The Components of Trust

From a business standpoint, trust is made up of two components - character and competence.

Let's talk first about character. Will you trust someone who is of good character or someone with a dubious reputation? When all is said and done, the people who would you like to be working with are trustworthy people.

Of course, character isn't enough. You'd also like to have people who can get the job done. People who have the skills and aptitude to complete the tasks proficiently and in a timely manner.

So the next time you are apply in for a job or asking for a promotion, be that person that can be trusted... the person who has good character with the skill set that can do the job right.

Character and competence - the components of trust.

I agree. It's not just about having the good intentions, there also has to be the competence to get things done.

Good point. Enthusiasm and stamina are both good characteristics too.
