Diary – Friday 16th January 2015
A day heavily spent preparing for my Saturday presentation on broadcast live community radio.
With a special guest taking part to promote the region’s biggest beer festival, and a new presenter taking up the slot right after my own, I knew I had a strong show to prepare.
Much of my afternoon was spent at the library printing up script notes.
My job-brokers sent me a message setting my first appointment with my new rep, and despite my telling them many times over that Thursday mornings are out for me they set it for Thursday morning until I e-mailed them and got the time changed.
My mum made me a Christmas pudding, as we had one left over a month on from Xmas – very enjoyable it was too.

You should have just gone down the pub, then rocked up at the studio drunk with 6 words written on the back of your hand to remind you what you were going to say :)

That's awesome. It sounds like you are doing what you love, and that's great. Hope everything goes well!

nice idea but there are strict rules in the UK against broadcasting under the influence

Sounds like an interesting day. When will the broadcast go out? Can it be picked up via internet radio?

I didn't know that, that there were rules against it. I could imagine a boss sending somebody home/sacking them, but not specific rules.

I like to discover people who actually enjoy Christmas pudding because it seems they are few and far between nowadays

I hope it goes well! I used to do live (not on the radio) performances and would always be a bit nervous!

MegL didn't see your message until after the show but no worries you can catch my shows on my Mixcloud page - just put my username name and Mixcloud in a search engine - it is a free non-commercial site

thanks for the best wishes - it can be nerve shredding but I am used to it now after just over a year on the air - I love it

Gosh, you have plenty of shows there! Though I couldn't find today's. Great photograph!
