Winding down the wait!

Since there are so many new members I thought I would restate a few facts about myself before continuing with my article here. I currently reside in Minnesota and rent a mother-in-law apartment in the basement of my daughter and son-in-law's home. This enables me to be a part of the daily lives of my four Grandchildren here, ages 9 (boy), 7 (boy), 5 (girl) and 2 (boy). I tend to write a lot of my family life here because I end up spending most of my days helping out, particularly with the 2-year-old.

My daughter is currently expecting another girl, due in just a couple of weeks. It is been a very long nine months and we are all looking forward to meeting this little girl. Preparations are nearly complete. Needed house projects are done for now and we are all pretty much as ready as we'll ever be.

Because of the tremendous amount of activity here I haven't been able to put in much time here. I know things will become less hectic for me once this little girl makes an appearance and my daughter will no longer be carrying around and enormous basketball-like weight in her belly.

So, I shall be here when I am able and must get busy with a bit of reading here.

Life is good!

It sounds like almost what I just went through, my gran daughter was born 3 weeks ago but my daughter stay with me , and she also has a 10 month old son so things are still hectic here.

How wonderful and your daughter is blessed to have so many little ones.

It is exciting indeed! We do feel extremely fortunate to have our set-up. I must admit though, I occasionally have to remind myself of that :)

You're definitely right about that. One of the key issues here is wondering how my 2-year-old Grandson reacts to the new baby.

SLGarcia wrote on January 16, 2015, 12:34 PM

I am an extremely fortunate Grandma! Thank you.

Thank you - it is very exciting indeed!

Thank you - all systems are go!

Congratulations - that's almost like having twins! As long as I don't have to have "night time" duty, I will be happy.

SLGarcia wrote on January 16, 2015, 12:39 PM

Thank you very much! Definitely a blessing.

I wonder how they cope with the expenses of 4 children and a soon-to-be baby.

How nice to be so close to your family yet have your own place

SLGarcia wrote on January 23, 2015, 9:24 AM

They would not have that many children if they couldn't afford them.

SLGarcia wrote on January 23, 2015, 9:25 AM

I am fortunate - it is an ideal lifestyle for me.

This is exactly the message that the Pope gives to Philippines. He asks them not to give birth like rabbits and be responsible parents.

Sounds like a busy household, how nice the grandkids will know you so well.
