We're All A Little Strange

If you think about it, no one is actually normal. We all have our own definition of what normal is, and have something we would like to change about ourselves to achieve what we think it is. For instance I have always felt different then everyone else, and when I was in school I tried so hard to be normal.

As I got older I realized I am my own sense of normal which just so happens to not be normal to others. So now I can look at what society calls 'normal' and see just how unnormal it really is, to me anyways. Accepting that was the first step to living my life for myself and not trying to impress everyone around me. I have found those who love me for all my weirdness and look past me not being normal. I do have to add they're a little strange themselves, but I love them!

Many us want to be normal and strive to be, but we are all a little different and that is what makes us unique. Over time our own definition of normal can change. What I thought was normal ten years ago isn't so normal anymore. As we all go along in this life we pretend to be normal, but really we should just embrace our differences. Here's a quote that sums it all up nicely -

“We're all a little weird and life's a little weird. And when we find someone who's weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness call it love.” - Robert Fulghum

The world would be a very boring place if we were all the same anyways.

I have come to genuinely believe that there is no such thing as 'normal' an that certainly helps keep life interesting
