So you want to be a writer.

Who here wants to be a writer? Of course we all do! Isn't that one of the reasons we are here? Of course writing isn't as glamorous as it sounds. Sure you had that dream of writing a masterpiece, making a ton of money and becoming famous! But that hasn't happened has it? Even if you are successful, chances are you would be writing the same type of thing over and over again! Or you would be writing what someone else wanted. No, a writer is usually more of a starving-artist type of person. We break our backs and eat at our keyboards. All the while hoping for that elusive big break! That's why I love sites like this. Here I can just write what I want to! Sure I don't make much but, by now, it isn't about the money. It's just about writing freely and hanging out with fellow writers! That is the world I have been looking for! I have enough money (though I could always use a bit more) so I just want to write. Rubbing elbows with fellow writers is ideal to me. It's a dream come true! So I shall continue to live modestly and be a modest writer. If you don't mind the long hours and the good and not so good times, you could join me! And together we shall be writers!

Sites like this one are pretty laid back and easy going so it's easy to make other writer friends.

I think we have to write primarily for the love of it. Any monetary reward, however small, is a nice bonus but there has to be more than money to inspire you.

I don't mind writing although I wouldn't take it any further than sites like these or review sites.

I don't for a moment wish to be famous. It never results in anything good. And I don't have illusions about my being a great writer. What I do want to do is teach deep topics simplistically, helping others understand deeper topics, while making a little pocket change in the process.
