India to be first foreign destination of the newly-elected Sri Lankan President.

It was well expected that the win of Maithripala Sirisena as the new Sri Lankan President would recover the strained relations between Sri Lanka and India and would strengthen the bilateral ties further. It was also in our expectation that the newly-elected Sri Lankan President would pay a visit to our country sooner or later. Fortunately it has been officially announced by the Sri Lanka government that India would be first destination of the newly-elected Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena on his foreign trip and the said trip to India probably commence the next month. Details of the proposed visit are yet to be available.

I hope the visit went well with him. Our elections are coming up in America in 2016 and it is already a mess. Nothing good will come out of it.
