HabitRPG: Amazing and Life-saving

I was enrolled in school at the age of 4 and graduated with my most recent degree at 23. After 19 years in a highly organized and regimented environment, the sudden lack of structure was starting and terrifying. As someone who suffers anxiety, the switch to an "open" life was too hard, too unpredictable. Even when I had a job it wasn't enough to structure my days the way I needed them to be structured.

And then I found HabitRPG. I stumbled on it through a Google Play Recommendation, and I am so glad that I did! The picture for this article is a snapshot of my listed Habits, Dailies, and Tasks. Habits are things that you get rewarded for doing, but not penalized for leaving along. Dailies are things that you have to do, well, daily. And Tasks are things that you don't really have a time limit on, but they turn a darker shade of red for every day they are undone.

Because of HabitRPG I remember to write on my sites. I take my daily picture, exercise, eat better, haven't spent a penny is a restaurant in two weeks (we were spending about $800 a month eating out, so this is a big deal!), and so much more. My life is in better order now than it has ever been, and all because of a game-like app that gives me rewards and achievements for getting my "chores" done every day.

What a useful app! So many of them are just a waste of memory and time.
