"Like" System Added to Comments

When I initially saw that we can't like a comment on a post/article it actually bothered me some. Now, I logged in to see that I can like the comments. I think that makes a improvement for Persona as a whole. People like to be able to let others know if something they said was noticed even if a comment doesn't come after them. It is fine that we just have a like system and not also a dislike system. I believe that dislikes would just create some hostility so I hope they don't appear here on Persona.

Also, it is said that we can access a photo gallery where we can add photos for later use in our articles. I think it would be good if it were possible to get a like system for the pictures.

Now, don't you people all go liking comments as a substitution for interaction. That's not what Persona is all about. If you like a comment, it would be nice to add your own two cents worth right after it to support the said previous liked comment. It's just common courtesy and will boost the community here.

I don't think it should or will take the place of interaction...But it is nice to have it, if there is nothing more to add to the discussion.

I agree. With all these new features, more interaction among members should be expected :) I have already "abused" that like button today! haha!

It is good to see new features being added and how this helps the site move forward.I like how it is all positive.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 3:55 AM

I've already seen it happen in other places.

Interaction should be expected

New features are always nice and generate some interest. personally I do not think 'like' button was needed as comments express thoughts much better.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 4:15 AM

So far, yes it is positive.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 4:18 AM

I don't mind it at all and do like this as an improvement. Even some news websites offer a like system for comments to articles received from the general public.

Yes i see it too, and i hope that there are so many new feature are in pipe line and will come soon

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:25 AM

Well, not too many new features. Just enough to make this more efficient.

AsADrivenLeaf wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:28 AM

I'm glad that it's added to the comment feature. But replying is even better.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 6:31 AM

Yes, replies matter more but remember this. Likes signify to be in agreement.

Is the like button can help us achieve our goal. Anyway, this is sound interesting to follow.

Being that we don't pay for likes anywhere, I don't think that it will become an issue here. Our members truly love to interact.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 8:38 AM

That is good to know. Thank you.

Shadi wrote on January 13, 2015, 8:44 AM

On touch screen devices it is not working. When you touch the like button nothing happens. Anyone else having the same problem?

MaeLou wrote on January 13, 2015, 9:29 AM

If anything, I wanted it for myself. I've come along posts that I have liked that haven't been on my own posts and have wanted to click that like but it isn't there. I get a lot of comments on mine so to "thank" everyone would take a ton of time for myself.

Louemham wrote on January 13, 2015, 9:42 AM

I think the addition of the like button is great, as sometimes I can't think of a worthwhile comment to add, but I still want the commenter to know I have acknowledged them.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 10:50 AM

MaeLou That is a very strong valid point! That is one of the very reasons I like having it.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 10:52 AM

It may have been a slow roll out because at first it didn't work for me.

CountryWine wrote on January 13, 2015, 10:55 AM

I agree. Sometimes there are just no words.
