I Got Paid

Excuse the misleading title, but it got your attention. At least I hope it did. Yes, this post is about payments, but not at Persona Paper.

I've just been for a quick visit to and I came across a post by a young lady who used to be an active member of that site until some of her redemptions went missing. By November she was seriously annoyed and decided to take a break until she got paid.

Her good news is that she's just been paid - the massive sum of $4.38!

What I find remarkable is that this is enough to make her optimistic about the future of Bubblews and to encourage her to start writing there again.

A year ago I took a leap of faith and started posting again after being paid part of what they owed me at the time, but in my case I received $50. But to me $4.38 sounds more like an insult than an incentive to stay there.

Sadly I can't even send her to Persona Paper because her English is barely intelligible.

That is actually despicable. I am due a payment of $103, what's the betting that I won't get that amount? That site has seriously gone downhill

Gina145 wrote on January 12, 2015, 5:31 PM

I doubt that anyone is getting as much as they expected, but international users seem to be losing a lot more than American, Canadian and British users. One of my friends there quoted figures which amounted to a loss of 95% of her earnings.

In my case, I'm not expecting to get anything at all because my two outstanding redemptions both took place well before the November 11 cut-off. I've sent a complaint to the BBB, but based on my friend's experience, I'm not sure it will achieve anything.

I lost over a 200 dollar payment that they stole. I am supposed to still have 83 coming after they adjusted it. I will be shocked if I do.

Gina145 wrote on January 12, 2015, 5:49 PM

My missing payments come to over $200 too, but that's spread over two years. I'm really annoyed because there are some posts included in that which are very personal and mean a lot to me, and I feel like they've been stolen from me.

Good luck with the adjusted payment. I hope you receive it.

ison1 wrote on January 12, 2015, 7:04 PM

Mine only went down from $74 to $32, but I've read a few people have received theirs and I haven't yet. Have I made one to many critical comment I wonder

Gina145 wrote on January 12, 2015, 7:32 PM

Hi John. How long have you been waiting for your payment? That's a big drop, but still a lot better than what's happening to some of the "international" users. I hope you get it.

WesleyMesser wrote on January 12, 2015, 7:56 PM

Whoa...now that's a cut off of payment. And I've heard of some cut off payments wise there but yeowch!

VinceSummers wrote on January 12, 2015, 8:04 PM

Maybe Bubblews can be renamed to Babblews if all those who can't write intelligibly remain there.

wolfgirl569 wrote on January 12, 2015, 8:39 PM

I removed all of my older posts that I could find. If they are not going to pay me then they are not going to make anymore from them . I am waiting for them to pay me then the ones for that pay period will be removed also for the same reason.

isabbbela wrote on January 12, 2015, 10:53 PM

Nobody is getting paid over there anymore. I was hoping your post was about getting paid here... I just started out here and I'm really interested to know if people are paid correctly and how long it takes!

stbrians wrote on January 12, 2015, 11:15 PM

I was paid too but mine was $10.09 and this from two hundred and sixteen just is a drop in the ocean

zabelle51 wrote on January 13, 2015, 12:10 AM

That is one of the issues isn't it and why advertisers don't pay for articles in barely English. I received my Nov. 13 redemption that had been reduced by $32 which I figured was fair since I have earned a lot of money and many of those scam likers, gave some of it to me. I don't cheat but I did benefit. Here I feel more like I have found a writing site with a social aspect to it. :)

nbaquero wrote on January 13, 2015, 12:56 AM

Gina145 I can't comprehend why people stick to that site. Just today I read the latest post from the CEO and everyone seems to oblivious to what happened just a few days ago. They keep promising big surprises, but no concrete actions to show how they will not let their member down again.

FreyaYuki wrote on January 13, 2015, 3:44 AM

Wow. I don't know what to say. I mean, it's good that she got paid but 4.38? Seriously? And she didn't feel insulted or mad or upset, etc in the least? Why? That's terrible especially if she was expecting to get a huge amount of unpaid redemptions and if she didn't break any of the rules or engage in "fraudulent activity" emoticon  . This is disheartening.

FreyaYuki wrote on January 13, 2015, 3:48 AM

Losing 95% of your earnings is more than terrible and it's practically as if you lost the entire thing. What an insult and how disheartening emoticon  Also lost an August redemption emoticon  Will try the BBB. Did you get a response? What did they say? What happened with your friend? Did she also try the BBB? They didn't pay her then?

FreyaYuki wrote on January 13, 2015, 3:55 AM

Am still there since am still slowly removing my posts from that site (have about a hundred or so more to go) and moving them elsewhere. Also have about 44 in their bank and don't really want to lose it like how I already lost an August redemption emoticon  . But, at the rate the bank page is moving (which is barely), seems like no one will be able to redeem again anytime soon.

Some people might be staying for the same reasons. But I also see others who still seem very supportive and I do wonder why. Perhaps they didn't lose money? There are lots of new posts by the CEO there but it doesn't look like they're answering the questions of the members. Am wondering about the surprise they keep mentioning too but, so far, nothing yet seems to be forthcoming. Hope it's not like the surprise announcement on the 31st of Dec 2014.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 4:53 AM

The BBB passed my complaint on to Bubblews. I haven't heard any more than that yet.

My friend also tried the BBB. Bubblews' response was to send her a copy of their post in which they announced that they couldn't pay us, so she hasn't received anything that I know of. I'm not sure whether she's taken it any further.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 4:55 AM

I plan to remove most of my posts but just can't find the energy to get started. I've got copies of all my posts but want to copy some of the more important comments from some of my personal posts.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 4:59 AM

It would be nice if those were the only ones who stayed, but I've seen some good writers who plan to stay at Bubblews because they enjoy the interaction there. If that's all that they're after they should rather come to a site like this one. They'd still earn something for their money without supporting the people who've cheated everyone.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:00 AM

People do get paid here if they're active enough. I haven't done enough to get anywhere close yet. How long it takes depends on how hard we work at it.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:01 AM

Oh no, that's a real insult. I hope you're stopped writing there.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:04 AM

I'm not sure I agree with Arvind's argument that we benefited from the scammers and shouldn't be paid for that activity. I put a lot of time and effort into reporting all the cheats I came across, and some of those cheats are still there. My reward is that I'm not being paid at all.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:08 AM

I can't understand the people who are so supportive either.

I haven't started yet, but I plan to delete most of my posts so that Bubblews can't benefit any more from them, but I plan to leave some about the cheating on the site as well as my complaints - provided they don't delete my account once that's all that's left of me there. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'll never be able to redeem the $40 in my bank because the best I've been able to earn on a post lately is 2-3 cents.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:10 AM

I don't know what they owed her, but it sounds like she's missing the money for a lot of redemptions. I have no idea whether she broke any rules because I've never read her posts before and don't plan to start now because her English is so bad. But the fact that they paid her anything suggests that they don't have a reason to delete her account, so $4.38 is ridiculous.

MBank wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:10 AM

Really very sad. I think bubblews should take some serious step to improve their site credit.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:11 AM

I've heard of others who have had 95% cut off their payments. International users are being treated really badly.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:13 AM

I'm really not sure how they can save their reputation now. All they're doing is making promises for exciting new features, but I don't know who will stay to use them.

VinceSummers wrote on January 13, 2015, 7:15 AM

To be honest, while they may be "good writers" I'd rather not interact with people who behave in such an irrational fashion.

FreyaYuki wrote on January 13, 2015, 9:03 AM

emoticon  Hope you get a favorable response then. And hope your friend can get a response too if she tries to take it further. Will try this too. Can't hurt to try. What else have we got to lose, right? Maybe if a lot complain, something might get done.

FreyaYuki wrote on January 13, 2015, 9:05 AM

I copied the comments I'd gotten there too. Didn't want to lose them. This is one thing that made me reluctant to remove the posts there because some did get some good, relevant comments. It brought back memories when I read through them again.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:05 PM

It certainly doesn't hurt to try, but it seems that the BBB route may no longer be successful. If Bubblews really don't have enough money to pay their debts, I'm not sure there's anything we can do.

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:06 PM

It's nice to know I'm not the only one wanting to do this :)

Gina145 wrote on January 13, 2015, 5:09 PM

A part of me feels the same way, but I've grown quite attached to some of my Bubblews connections. But one or two of them are starting to irritate me when I see what they're writing now.

FreyaYuki wrote on January 14, 2015, 6:21 AM

Just tried this too. Plan to write about it. But, yeah, don't know yet if it will be successful or if anything will happen. But at least we tried.

BarbRad wrote on January 15, 2015, 12:39 AM

My bank is currently about $19 but I don't think I'll ever get it even if I stay there and keep writing until I get to $50. Who's to say they won't lower the amount or raise the redemption threshold when I'm nearly there? I just have no confidence that I'll get what I work for there. I may not make much here, either, but at least I believe I will get it.

Gina145 wrote on January 15, 2015, 7:14 AM

My bank is slightly over $40, but with the current rate I'm "earning" there it would take hundreds of posts to get me to $50 so I'm not even going to try. I've finally started deleting posts there, but I want to reread my comments and save the good ones, so it will take a while.

BarbRad wrote on January 16, 2015, 1:44 PM

Why not use your browser to save them as complete webpages?

Gina145 wrote on January 16, 2015, 2:22 PM

I didn't think of that. Maybe I'll give it a try.

grandma20121 wrote on January 16, 2015, 7:30 PM

I think your right its seems more like an insult to me, i would not consider it an incentive to keep writing by no means at all

Gina145 wrote on January 16, 2015, 7:36 PM

I can't understand why anyone would think it an incentive but I've noticed that there are some people there who are willing to forgive Bubblews for anything they've done.

Hollyhocks100 wrote on January 20, 2015, 6:06 AM

International users are being slammed, you are right about that. I had earnings of almost $300 taken off me, and a pending was slashed from over $65 to a measly $13. Convert that to euros and I´ll be lucky to see 6€.

Gina145 wrote on January 20, 2015, 6:55 AM

Your pending was slashed pretty badly, but I've seen others that have been hit even worse. I read somewhere that people from Africa get hit worst on some other sites, so it's probably the same at Bubblews. I had a post with about 20 likes and 20 comments earn only one cent, so it's pretty hopeless for me.
