If You're Cold Outside, So Is Your Pet!

Winter is definitely upon us and as we all complain we're cold and prefer to be indoors so do our pets. If you're not alright with you pet being in your house then at least provide adequate shelter for them so they can try and keep somewhat warm. I'm here in Southern California where it has actually been really cold lately. It's been 30 degrees at night on in the low 50's during the day.

If California is that cold, I know it's much colder in other parts of the world. I see so many animals being kept outside where they are cold and they just don't have the means to get warm. Then those incredibly sad commercials showing animals outside in the snow shivering and it's just heart breaking. If you get an animal make sure you're going to take proper care of it.

Imagine you outside when it's freezing and how you would feel. Yes they have fur, but that can only do so much. It's like their clothing and when we go outside in clothes we're still cold. I just wish people would care a little more about animals especially if they made the decision to have one. Please provide shelter for your pets, even just a blanket so they don't have to spend their time locked in a yard cold with no way to help them self.

I know my dogs feel the cold, so they come inside with me in winter.

My inlaws keep their dogs outside, they built them a little shelter with beds and blankets inside it

I agree with you 100 percent! People who adopt animals really need to take things like the weather into consideration. Ours have always been house pets so they are kept nice and warm in the winter.

Oh, I agree. I believe that if it is too cold for you to be outside, then it is too cold for your pets to be outside. My cats come and go but at night, they prefer to stay indoors!

Everyones different but every dog I've ever had has always been kept inside at night or when weather conditions were extreme i.e. too hot, cold, wet, etc.

If one sees a dog left outside in the bitter cold, WITHOUT proper shelter,it should be reported to Animal Control or your local ASPCA.
