Return to Choir Tonight

Tonight is choir night and this will be the first practice since Christmas.I belong to a local community choir, there are about twenty of us who meet on Monday nights and have a lot of fun.

I have been going to this group for over twelve months now and I love it,it is not just the singing aspect but also the social part of being with other like minded people.

I must say please don't think I can sing or that I am a singer but I do love to sing and joining this choir has helped me in more ways than one.We do not have any solo singers because none of us are good enough to sing alone but together we sound good.

Last year we were asked to join in with a lot of fund raising events and although this was scary for us to perform in front of an audience we did well and as far as I know no one said anything bad about us.

The choir was set up at our local doctors surgery which is also a community center, youth club and library, with the guide lines that singing is good for you.I was told about it by my doctor who said it might do me good and get me out of the house.Since that day I have not looked back, the doctor was right in that going to the choir gets me out and about and has helped me lift my mood and gives me something to look forward to.My daughter and husband and my daughters friend have also joined and they also love it.

I would recommend to anyone if there is a singing group in your area and you are thinking of joining then go ahead as I am sure you would love it.

I can't sing at all, but when I was in school I used to perform in band. Did it for several years and had some memorable experiences. Have fun at your practice!

I love singing too, though I am not that good as you :) I wish you success with the choir.

It sounds like fun, I cannot sing in any shape or form

With my singing ability, or should I say lack of, the group would probably disband altogether.

I bet choir can be great fun and must give confidence to those who have never felt comfortable singling alone.

I love to sing, and have been involved with my church choir since I was a small child. I've been the pianist since I was a teenager.
