Cat Food In My Shoe

We have been having some really cold weather lately and my cats don't like it any more than I do. Panda has enough "insulation" that she will still go outside during the day but she makes sure to come back in at night. Casper on the other hand, runs on to the porch for a few minutes and then comes right back in, meowing like I am supposed to turn up the outside thermostat.

So far I have not complied with his demands so he has been punishing me by tearing holes in the cat food bag and peeing down the shower drain. So he has been forced to endure the outside temps longer than he appreciates. (I don't leave him out too long or anything.) He sits on the porch table and glares at me through the window.

Max has just gotten more cuddly. Since he is blind, I dont let him outside but he does like to sit by the door and sniff the air. He also has gotten very tallented at finding soft cosy places to sleep. The main problem I am having with him is that he has figured out when it is time for me to go to work and he doesn't want me to go. He will lay on my shoes or wrap his clawed paws arou d my leg when it is time to leave.

Tonight there was something in my shoe. It rubbed against my toe as I rang up customers and was annoying enough that I took my shoe off and shook it. A single hard piece of cat food rolled out of my shoe and across the floor. Now I am left wondering how the cat food got in my shoe. Was it another Casper protest? Or was it Max leaving me a snack where he knew I would find it?

Reading this made me miss my cat more than I have in the month since he passed away. It also reminded me of finding vomit in my shoes! You gotta love 'em, right?

my cat always scratches my sandals, no vomit yet. Having a hard time to stop her bad clawing habit

At least it was a hard piece of food. I have trodden on the wet food now and again and it's not very pleasant scraping that off your sock

They are hard not to love and I am very glad it wasn't wet food. My cats don't usually claw my shoes but Casper does like to sleep on my son's shoes.

Aren't cats amazing in the way they choose to communicate? Or not to?
