All in a Row

I am absolutely in love with this photo I took at Berry College in Rome, Georgia yesterday. I know it is just a shot of some bicycles all lined up in a row, but there is something about it that just gets me. Here are my reasons for liking it so well:

1.I love that they are all in a row.

2.I love the vintage feel I achieved with the photo.

3.I love the rock on the wall behind the bikes.

4.I love the whole setting and composition of the photo.

5.I like the leaves on the ground.

6.I like that they are sitting under a tree, even though you can only see a few leaves overhead.

So, that's what I like the photo. Aside from just liking the "feel" of it. What do y'all think?

Photos certainly get to our emotions. One person might see a plain picture whilst another can see an adventure.

I like the photo too. My first impression when I saw it was that it looked like a scene from a movie, a setting intended to give the viewer an idea of the time and place. Nice composition. : )

I love the shapes of bicycles and they make an interesting picture. The colours are cheery too

Yeah, I'm sure a lot of people won't like the photo at all, but I love it.

Thanks so much. I have another version that shows the bikes on the other side more as well. I like both.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. I love the colors.

i love the look it looks like the old pictures, rural setting

AngelSharum wrote on January 11, 2015, 7:45 PM

Yep, I was going for a vintage feel to it cause of the bikes they had.

I like this one too, especially the composition. It does have a hazy appearance to it though. Did you add that or was it something else?

The photo had a dreamy quality already and then I did some editing. It is supposed to look like that. :)

Your image certainly has that 'old world' look which I think is enhanced by the Archway in the top left corner. I almost expect to see some old Nuns/Friars walk out emoticon  Great photograph :)

AngelSharum I keep finding more and more interesting things about this photo, for instance the arc on the left hand side. Great picture.

I really do like it. It is one of my favorites now.

Thank you. The building itself is very old. The architecture does add to the shot.

AngelSharum wrote on January 12, 2015, 1:05 PM

Thank you. I'm glad others like it as well as I do.

nbaquero wrote on January 12, 2015, 1:21 PM

Well, it helps that you described it with so much passion.

I love the photo and what you have done with it. It reminds me of Oxford, UK, where there are also a lot of bikes.

BodieMor wrote on January 12, 2015, 3:41 PM

Lovely photo. I too enjoy the vintage feel you have created.

AngelSharum wrote on January 12, 2015, 4:43 PM

Thank you. I plan to get me a print of it soon to see what it looks like.

AngelSharum wrote on January 12, 2015, 4:43 PM

Thanks. Some people don't go for the vintage look but I like it on certain photos.

BarbRad wrote on January 12, 2015, 11:49 PM

I think there is a bit of nostalgia to it. The bikes do look a bit old fashioned.

AngelSharum wrote on January 13, 2015, 12:04 PM

Sorta stacked the deck in my favor, huh?

AngelSharum wrote on January 13, 2015, 12:05 PM

Yeah, we were shocked at how many of the kids had the bikes made to look old timey vs 10-speeds.

nbaquero wrote on January 13, 2015, 3:45 PM

Absolutely! Can you recommend a good site (or probably write a post) regarding photography basics using cell phone cameras?

Here is one from National Geographic. http://photography.nationalgeographic.com/photography/photo-tips/camera-phone-photos/

It's odd that a photo of something as ordinary as a bike rack could turn out to be so un-ordinary. I love it. I've driven by Berry, but I've never been on campus. From photos I've seen, it's beautiful.

AngelSharum wrote on January 13, 2015, 11:56 PM

It is a pretty place. I'm still in love with this shot. :)
