Diary – Friday 9th January 2015

Lots of minor errands to do; library visit, preparing my radio show, chasing after guests invited to my birthday bash in February who haven’t ASAP’d.

Going out in really horrible weather is becoming the norm at present. I felt like Scott Of The Antarctic just taking the short walk to the local library.

I want some writing pads and a 2015 diary but none of the shops near the library had anything suitable.

At the library, though complaining of over-work, three librarians stood around gossiping through most of my visit and then managed to serve a customer who jumped the queue rather than me when I was next.

I'll never understand people who cut into lines despite how long others might have been waiting their turns!

It is totally opposite weather here in Australia we have had a very hot summer but yesterday we have had some rain which is fantastic as Broken Hill will run out of water by August 2015.

I don't go in our local library much but when I do I always seem to have to wait ages to return or take out books because of staff gossiping with each other or with other customers. I remember when libraries where very quiet places but these days it's just like going to a drop-in cafe

If they have the time to gossip, I doubt they are busy.

If they were just standing around gossiping they weren't too busy to serve you, sounds like they decided Friday was going to be their lazy day.
