Who Are You?

Has this question ever bothered you? Maybe you will be very first to give out your names. Are names you? You might go ahead and tell us the work you do or your profession. Is that you? You might do better and tell us your religion. I do not think that is you either. Many will tell us that they are persons. Yes you are a person but is that all that makes you? If you die do you cease to be a person? Scientists say that you are made of cells. I agree with them yet I want to know what will make you unique from other people. There must be something that makes you be whom you are, yet if you ask me then I do not know. You are in a better position to answer that question. Who are you?

I got asked that question in work, many many, years ago and I answered with the answers you gave above but they were all wrong. I am NOT an office worker, I am NOT a mother, I am NOT a woman, although those were all answers that I gave. I gave up, 30 years later and I still don't know the answer to that question!

&stbrains Honestly I don't know who I really am. I know I am flesh and bone and whatever else. I know that I am human. But what makes us all different, well that is the questions we all ask. But we will never get the true answer. We, like all other living things on this planet are born, we live and we die. That's it. Nothing more. So who we are, well, maybe we are just a portion of time and space. Maybe we rot and decay back into the world we live.

@megL Maybe you are a spirit embodied in a body or you are heart blood and soul

Interesting post, which I will address later in my own, as I ask this question in my workshops, as it relates to the job search. When I facilitate that discussion, I steer them a certain way that most career transition trainers do not, which I think warrants dedicating a post or two to the topic. Thank you for the prompt!

And nice to meet you!

I am a born again Christian. I am a wife and mom of two adult sons. I have always been a homemaker. I am trying to write online to earn a little extra money.
