Additional motivation to use your Step Counter - such as a Fitbit
For almost a year now, I have had a Fitbit One. I have loved using it because it really does help to motivate me to move more often. When I first started using it, I was only taking approximately 2500 steps. Now I am averaging 5000-6000 with most weeks me getting in at least one long walk when enables me to reach my 10000 steps a day goal. Now, I will admit that I need to keep increasing my steps so I can reach the 10,000 steps a day goal much more often.
I have also found a way to get motivated to get more steps in by earning either cash or free things by just walking. I do this by linking by Fitbit account to numerous accounts which reward me for doing something good for me.
Here is a list to some of the different site that will reward you:
Walgreens - will give you 20 points on your rewards account for every mile you work
Achievemint - You can walk towards $50 to your paypal account
FitStudio- For every 14,000 steps you walk you earn 5000 points which is equal to $5.00 to use at the different stores linked to the site
NexTrack = earn points towards gift cards.
Does anyone else know of any apps or sites that will allow you to earn things for exercising?

So you earn money for walking? I have to check it out. I think I walk more than 1000 steps a day.

I earn, cash, gift cards, and store credits for walking, eating healthy, and other exercises.

suzagrace9 that is really good information. I am not very familiar with FitBit but it seems I could use one and get some added benefits. How much does the least expensive model/version cost?
