Insomnia Is getting worse

It's been years since I had insomnia. At first I could still figure my way around it but as time passed by it had gone worse. I think it had gone worse because I think too much and since I'm already a graduating student in college, the stress in school might definitely be eating me up. There is no other reason why, but I'm certain about it. In the past at nine in the evening, I get really tired but now I feel nothing like my mind is still fresh like it's still morning. My sleeping time is three in the morning which is definitely not normal because I have class at nine in the morning. As a student I need seven to eight hours of sleep and because of this insomnia, my performance in school is at stake. What should I do?

Someone once told me this 'do not worry about not sleeping because that is what stops you from sleeping' in a way he was right because the point he was trying to make was if you are in bed for 8 hours at least you are getting rest, rest is all you need at a young age so stop worrying about your work.. if it is good it is good and if not then there is always do it again. Nothing in this world is worth worrying about.
An alternative answer would be to run around your College playing fields and tire yourself out, I do this all of the time, you could try it emoticon :smile:

You have to pay attention to your diet, and your exercises. Perhaps a multivitamin pill a day will help.

try to chill as much as possible - relax, read, watch TV - remember it should ease off once free of exam and essay deadline pressure

try to cut off tea. coffee, coke, and sweet or high calorie food at night. Don't use computer 30min before you sleep and get a massage before you jump into your bed, I sleep at 4am, wake up at 10am,, I know it is crazy, so I am trying to kick this habit too
