Are We Both That Retired

I got up this morning earlier than usual to prepare for my dentist appointment, but first I drank my cup of coffee as I do every morning trying to get awake. Last night my husband reminded me that I had this appointment at the dentist at one and I would have to leave by noon to get there on time.

So I prepared in my mind last night go to bed at a decent hour so I could get up early to get ready for the appointment today.

As I was drinking my coffee this morning it dawned on me the dental office had not phoned me with its usual annoying more than once reminder calls yesterday or today. I thought better check my phone and see if they called and maybe I didn't hear the phone. Nope there were no calls. Well that was strange.

At about this same time it came to me isn't my appoint today? My next thought was check my calendar and see which day my appointment is written down for. Lo, and behold my appointment was not today it is tomorrow. I wanted to jump up and down for joy but contained myself.

But I also wondered aren't two heads better than one but I guess in this case we are really this retired and I just smiled.

Brenda You just lost track of the days. No big deal. I have done that many times. Sometimes I don't really remember what day it is. But I always figure it out.

Lol, I am sure you felt a little bit frustrated by having the wrong day, but the consolation is at least it was a day early and not a day late.

I know I think we are just having to much fun in retirement in my humble opinion. We just want to have fun all the time. We don't like it when our days of fun are interrupted by mundane things such as dentist appointments. lol

Well I could not agree more. I think my point should have been I was glad I didn't have to go to the dentist after all. lol

I do understand. But for once I didn't have to do what I secretly didn't want to do to begin with. I was so relieved it was the wrong day.

I can understand that. Happy dentist appointment TOMORROW. : )

Why did my word run together in this article do you know? I tried to edit them but they won't edit.

Being retired myself, I can understand. But I enjoy being retired – getting up 11 AM in the morning, a hearty breakfast and then wait for lunch too!!

I have to admit I envy people who don't really have to keep track of the days. How wonderful!

Well, that kind of thing happens to me, too. By the way, if there is anything you can do about nottypingso many words together... It makes reading so much better.

JustEm wrote on January 7, 2015, 8:56 AM

I love it when that happens, especially when you really do not want to go emoticon

Vince I didn't type the words together when I went in an edited the words came back that way. I tried to correct but it didn't correct it. I will try again hopefully it will correct this time.

Brenda wrote on January 7, 2015, 12:05 PM

Ok I think I got all the corrections to take this time. It took several tries but I was determined it would take. lol

You did a great job, Brenda. I love the fact that this site allows editing posts. Otherwise, how will we fix errors and keep them up to date?

I know what you mean and i feel like jumping up for joy too sometimes.

We are getting terrible about this. The doctors keep my home number on record, and even though I've told them I'm temporarily here and given them that number, they still leave the reminder messages at the other house where I'm not likely get them, so I have to call them.

Don't you just love it when you lose a day. Or can't remember what day it is.

Haha, well at least the appointment was the next day and not the day before.

Since I have been retired in April of 2014, every day seems the same. There are no weekends to look forward to. If I have an appointment, it is circled on a number of calendars and my doctor will send me a reminder 24 hours before the appointment.

Lol! But I guess two heads are just always ahead of time... God bless and may you have a great time visiting your dentist tomorrow... enjoy the rest of the day.

I have a very large calendar with only appointment slots on it. My kids know that they have to have any help they want put on the calendar, or it doesn't happen.
