Some people on facebook have NO sense of humor...

Yep...I have been faceblocked. This morning, as I opened facebook, I saw I was logged out, and I thought to myself, I thought "Self...this is strange."

So I logged in.

Lo and behold, I was then told by facebook that I have been blocked from posting for the next three days for violating standards. The violation was due to a page i had called "Women Belong in the Kitchen". It was a tongue-in-cheek page, with the "owner" a 50's style woman who took care of her husband and kids and house and was extremely nice and thought that many troubles in our society today were because women no longer stayed home to take care of things.

It was all humor, and anyone that had bothered to read any of the page posts SHOULD have been able to tell it was not serious.

But then, I forgot facebook is inhabited by many people that have either A) No sense of humor, or B) Are just complete idiots. emoticon

Luckily, I have an 'evil twin' account over there, so I was able to log in to it and let most of my friends, associates and acquaintances know that poor Michael Joseph Ratcliffe would be missing in action for a few days.

But still...a three-day block just over the name of a community page? And there are things on facebook that are TRULY offensive that have been there forever, and yet their pages/posts are allowed to remain by the facebook .

I guess you are allowed to be mean, and hateful, and spread all kinds of trouble...just as long as you don't try to be funny.

Oh well...

My time at Facebook ended after a friend went off on my wife for an article she posted about teachers. the headline of the piece was sarcastic and looked as though it was anti-teacher. it wasn't until you read the whole thing that you got that it was pro-teacher. It was obvious by the vitriolic comment that the fiend had not read the post. I went off on her, HARD, and demanded that she apologize to my wife, which she did. Proof that laziness and stupidity go hand in hand.

I just got online, so I didn't see your post about this. Wow, yeah I thought FB was supposed to read the page to see if it really is offensive, so maybe FB doesn't have any sense of humor either. Then again if you had invited me to like it, I probably wouldn't. emoticon

People don't read anymore. I was just reading a business article that spoke to that very thing. t said that businesses needed to use more videos and less text. People don't like to read anymore. Sensorship huh?

Oh dear I'm not Facebook but I don't really post on there I tend to just go on to look at what other people are doing.

The first priority for them is to make money. Common sense, decency and a strong online community are not chief amongst the concerns. I cut back on my time there when they started hiding the vast majority of my feed.

Aah, Facebook, you gotta love! You're right, not many people on there have a sense of humour, so I avoid it. Go on it about once a year, tops!

I remember last year I was blocked for 24 hours just because I tried to send a link to Amber and Josh in a private message. How was I supposed to know you can't share a link about making money. I couldn't even send private messages either. At first I laughed it off. As the hours went by though I got annoyed.

Um...but I sent you the link for here through a PM on facebook...

I don't remember which website it was but it was a money maker. They are very picky. Amber and Josh kept laughing for hours at me.
