Zooms in, Posts, Sleeps

As I had a grand total of three hours' last night this will be as brief as word count allows so I can make up some zeds tonight.

Woke up at 2.30am gasping for a . Wandered into the bathroom, turned on the tap. To hear sounds of gasping pipes and gurgling water.

Turned on half the lights in the house in an effort to get downstairs successfully to find something which was NOT water to drink. Settled on Pepsi (not a good idea given the caffeine).

Woke up my husband in the process.

Staggered awake at 5.30am to discover the water still was not on.

Phoned the company to report it, as they were unware that the outage stretched to the village.

No shower. No . Cranberry juice is lovely but I Really Wanted A Cuppa! Just about managed to cobble enough water into a cup to clean my teeth. Have suffered bed hair jokes all day because my drunken hedgehog spikes are a bit obvious.

Washing up dishes and laundry both had to wait until later in the day, after the pipes had slowly refilled.

Bus to work was a single decker, but at least one of the newer ones with leather seats and enough space for everyone.

was off sick - she has (which would not improve her stress levels if she had chosen to come into work, I'm sure) - so what should have been a really busy day ended up being a really quiet one after all. I don't think I could have coped with boss on three hours' sleep just after new year so I was secretly rather grateful. She is a great boss but is driven and insistent at times and I was suffering severe LMF from being so tired today so might not have reacted well to that.

Washing up is done. Washing is done and half dry (will turn the dryer on again tomorrow as it's too late now.)

Off to bed now, still need to finish two articles tomorrow plus a load of other things. Oh well, keeps me out of mischief...

Sounds like a typical night and day of mine. I am ALWAYS having crazy situations arise. It makes it hard to....live and stuff. lol. But I try to manage as best I can when I have some free time. :)

I hope your water doesn't cause you any more problems. Note to self, fill those big camping jugs. - if a storm knocks out our power, the water pump can't run. I need to be prepared.

Java? Coffee? Not unless you want me in A&E I don't...

Today's tally include the fact that the shower BROKE when the water gushed through it after the supply was swiched on, my new suitcase has done a Luggage and wandered off into the darkest recesses of the loft, we think, and my travel rucksack broke. Can I catch a break yet, do you think?

It did cause more problems, unfortunately, Paige. The long and warm shower I had been hoping for lasted for all of five minutes this morning before something inside broke and the water all came gushing out of the bottom of the shower housing...gotta love it!

Spiky drunken hedgehog hair, lol! Gonna take a bit to rid myself of that picture! Hope all is well with your water issues by now!

A vain hope, regrettably. But thanks for the good wishes anyway ;-S

Yup, spiky drunken hedgehog hair. Worse than Tintin on a bad day. Shower is still broken, we're using the one at work for now. Getting hold of the plumber is proving challenging with my current workload. The rest of the water is back on and working fine, so the clothes and dishes are getting washed just fine.
