Drink more water, Get more Exercise!

Although I have joined a slimming club, my main goal for this year is to improve my general health and fitness levels. I want to get my diabetes under tight control and feel better about myself generally. I am a bit of a Diet coke addict, and tend to drink at least 2 litres a day - I dread to think what my insides look like (although I doubt it could be worse than my outside!)

One of my challenges has been to drink water and only allow myself only one can of Diet Coke with my main meal. I googled how much water I should have each day and it seems to be anywhere between 1.6 and 3 litres a day so I have been trying to empty a 2 litre bottle each day. This has drastically increased my exercise each day too! As my bathroom is upstairs lol! Hoping all the stair climbing will give me some slimmer thighs too! Still, it is making me feel more awake so going to stick with it...

I love the fact that the drinking water has immediately increased your exercise!! brilliant. I should drink more water. i just forget!!

I gave up fizzy drinks in September of last year and started drinking water (plain and flavoured) and it has really made a difference to me

You're on the right track. Exercise and dieting just for losing weight is not a permanent "fix". Without changing your life style, you'll just put the weight back on. The rule of thumb that we in the alternative health field use for the amount of water needed is to divide your weight by two and (here in the US) drink that many ozs of water. For instance, I weigh 130 lbs so I would need 65 oz of water per day. I don't know how to convert that to metric, unfortunately.

Drink More,Move more,Eat less. That is the motto I am trying to live by! Its proving a little difficult at the moment though!

Sadly I just downloaded an app to remind me to drink more water. So far so good.

Water does make you feel better school children are encouraged to drink during the day while doing lessons. As it activates the brain.
