I offer no excuse for being absent from PP, but here is a resume of a christmas of discomfort and not much joy...
A problem with my eye manifest itself just prior to the festive day, and I spent the eve of Christmas day in hospital undergoing eye-surgery.
The Day itself was half-spent in attendance at an impromptu out-patient appointment to have the eye-patch removed.
If asked what my worst nightmare is I would answer, - "Having needles or any sharp objects poked into my eyes..."
And yet, when it came to that nightmare being realised I behaved rather well. Oh, I did cringe and clench fists and behave the coward, but it was all rather unnecessary as the operation (to remove a bit of detached retina) was painless and trouble free.
Vision is compromised and I am unable and indeed forbidden to drive for five or six weeks, which is a bit inconvenient as I will have to catch a bus into town to get any shopping. Which is no hardship in itself just different; having to rely on others.
New specs will be needed before I can resume driving and some expense incurred with that need.
I suspect that I am not alone in fearing the aforementioned eye-surgery, but I can assure everyone that there is only discomfort, no pain is involved.
To keep things upbeat, I wish everyone a happy new year and wish only good things for all in 2015.
