Three Downsides of Garlic

Garlic is one of the most ancient health remedies in the world. It is also one of the most common ingredient in the kitchen.

Are you aware of the possible health risks it may have on you? Well, apparently over-consumption of garlic can lead to the following:

1. Bleeding

Garlic can tend to cause excessive bleeding in persons who have a bleeding disorder or from persons who have just been taken from surgery.

2. Indigestion, Gas, and Flatulence

In some people, it has been known to cause indigestion, which would lead to flatulence and gas especially when consumed in excess.

3. Bad Breath

This is the most common side effect. I bet you all have come across it or experienced it.

I don't know about you, but I like my garlic. Lucky for me, I only suffer from number 3.

I am not sure how much garlic would need to be consumed to affect a person's bleeding time. Anyone with such a severe blood disorder will hopefully have been advised by a health care professional on what foods to avoid.

#1 would have to be the absolute nightmare for a vampire. Sitting there on the windowsill, watching all this garlic-ridden blood go to waste... Seriously though you'd have to guess that anyone with a bleeding disorder would have to watch out for a LOT of stuff. Garlic probably has a lot of company.
