Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash - a review
A few weeks ago, I received the latest test product from BzzAgent.co.uk. I'm a BzzAgent, which basically means I accept freebies and money off coupons from BzzAgent and test, spend or offer them, then write about the outcome.
Sometimes I get products to try, with vouchers. Sometimes I just get vouchers, sometimes simply products. I take surveys to establish my demographics - I'm happy to have cat food samples to share with my cat-owned friends, for instance, but there is no point in sending me nappies or baby food vouchers.
The latest campaign I signed up for is to test Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash.
So, upstairs, we have a full sized bottle of this shower creme, which my husband took delivery of just before Christmas. We have both been using it in our daily showers, and it's bringing a touch of luxury to the daily wake-up routine. We normally use the economy range shower gel (just because I prefer it and my husband isn't fussed).
The fragrance is Shea Butter with Warm Vanilla, which means it's sweeter than the gels we usually use. I have to say that the publicity blurb about it creating a creamy lather is right on, and it does keep my skin more moisturised than some body washes.
Now for the bad points. The product can feel a bit greasy on my skin, as the water in this area is rather hard. It takes a lot more washing off than the gels usually do, which may be why I prefer gels. The lid on my sample is quite stiff and as my husband smacks the lid down hard, I find I have to fight the lip of the top to get it open.
Other than that, it's a welcome addition to the collection of bottles on the side of the bath, and may well find more fans when our friends arrive in a couple of days for the new year celebrations. They have more discerning tastes than me and often prefer the branded body washes by Dove and similar companies.
This one is worth another try, though, and a new bottle may well, in time, form part of a gift basket for some of those aforementioned friends.
