Metro Manila and the Flood

Ever since I was born I don't remember our place being not flooded in 2 hours. This has been our way of life when storm comes.

This photo was taken two years ago when monsoon hit us hard.

Our government is doing their best do make this worst scenario can ease our flooding problem when rainy season is at hand. Checking the demographic of Manila, we are really below sea level; the problem is there is no available technology to affluence the flooding and every year is getting worst! Flood control is nothing but a façade during the worst flood ever hit us.

I don’t know how to solve this problem unless we vacate the entire Metro Manila and elevate it with more soil up to 10 stories high. Lol! That I guess will resolve our yearly flooding situation.

It's the drainage problem. Just have to dig very deep tunnel to drain out the water.

I think you are all very courageous to survive in those conditions.

We've been having floods here in the last few years. Of course, it's nothing against the monsoons, but it's just as bad if you have two floods per year destroying everything in their path.

There is nothing we can do to stop the rain but there is something we can do with the clogged drainage system and the irresponsible garbage disposal.

i hope the government will find ways to ease our flooding season every year!

yes, we have to be braved enough to face our "jinx" every year...

we have flood even if it's not rainy season too! lol!

well, all the plastic, styrofoam, etc. that is potentially hazardous to our nature are sticking in the "esteros", canals, muddy rivers etc. like it was a big garbage trash can and when the rain and flood comes we are but to blame for this mess... pity on us sir....

When we all learn to clean up our creeks and dispose garbage properly only then would we be able to minimize the flooding.

I think when the government is less corrupted, they can find the money to deal with the drainage problem.

That's a big problem that Manila is facing right now. I hope that our local government will be able to work on that one. Well , there are lots of issues that our country is facing right now - increase of MRT and LRT fares and water bills. Good luck iWrite .
