Changing Jobs

After 14 months at my present job it appears I will need to change jobs again due to a pending reorganization. The healthcare IT industry is getting at the end of the EMR surge and more organizations are trimming their staff to control cost.

I don't feel bad about changing but would rather stay in the general area due to grandchildren. I still have about 23 working years left so I'm much too young to retire.

Had a successful round of interviews yesterday with a larger organization which I believe is a cultural fit. It's approximately 3 times the size of my current employer and without the financial concerns. They are moving forward with initiatives that are critical to the long term success of the organization. Opening smaller acute care hospitals and expanding their ambulatory reach. They will have the first hospital in a booming suburb which will take business from my current employer.

Hopefully all will be well in a few weeks.

If you have the money for semi-retirement, you can spend more time with your family.
