Stock Market ?

Anyone invest in individual stocks?

I have a small account that I "play". Not much money but I do enjoy researching companies and attempting to predict their worth. Last two quarters of 2013 and the first to of 2014 I did fairly well at approximately 30%.

Unfortunately I had to work extreme overtime and didn't have the time to research and develop trading strategies so I've lost about 15% since August of this year. Since time was limited, I've change over all strategy from price growth to dividend yield. I hold the stocks much longer to gain the advantage of a quarterly dividend.

It's very tempting to get back into the excitement of trading on a daily basis, almost like a gambling addition. I keep reminding myself that overall dividend & income is the best strategy for me.

Would love to hear from others in the market.

Wouldn't want to get into it . I spend time on studying football and lottery statistics.

Sounds like more fun and probably more lucrative.

sward I used to play the market in a small way years ago. I had Apple stock and I was real happy. That was until the stock started going down, and my then wife panicked. She had me sell the stock. Right after that, the stock went and then split. I would have been a millionaire. But, that was my luck I guess. I couldn't buy anymore after that because then she filed for divorce. No, not because of the stocks. But, it turned out badly for me. Now, I am happier not being with her. I just get mad every time I think about that Apple stock.

I remember after my college graduation, I tried to apply for a stock trader but because of not that wide knowledge in the work I am going to join i . I failed the examination. Maybe in the future, I will.

I do not trade. I invest for dividend income. The last few years were good years.
