Goodbye Helium, Goodbye Bubblews

As 2014 comes to an end, so does my long association with two sites that I had poured all my love of into.

I became a member of in 2007. I loved my time there as a member, writer, channel manager and student as Helium was my friend, mentor and teacher all rolled into one. About a few days ago, I was a about a dollar short of reaching the $25 threshold set by Helium, but thanks to some great friends and some ruthless promotion on #Tsu, I have been able to cross that threshold and now hopefully the will be automatically paid into my account on 15th December, as stated on the website’s payment page.

My parting with is acrimonious to say the least. I have ranted enough and will not waste any more time or breath on this website. I have been able to access my via proxy and will delete them manually one by one as Bubblews admins, if there are any, refuse to delete my account. I will be posting some evergreen ones here and a few on CGP gallery just to test that place.

As 2015 dawns, so will begin my association with new people and new which I hope will prove to be long-term and fruitful.

I hope for a better, brighter for myself and all my friends on PP.

You will need an account to comment - feel free to register or login.

I hope you won't be leaving here and I wish you the best with all the new associations. I am always on the look for a newer site that allows us to do what we love.

sheilagamo wrote on December 11, 2014, 11:27 AM

Wow. reading this I feel like leaving Bubblews as well. They haven't paid me since August. Anyway, i will look out for some new websites. Any recommendations?

AliCanary wrote on December 11, 2014, 12:15 PM

Good for you! I am so glad that you can get into your account at Bubblews and delete things. I like having you here, and I hope you have great success posting your work here and at other sites.

Dawnwriter wrote on December 11, 2014, 12:27 PM

#sheilagamo No website that I have tried so far, pays as well as Bubblews did but for now, I am going to concentrate on Daily Two Cents, CGP Gallery and of course Persons Paper. Within a month, I hope to figure out which are best paying or most satisfying.

melody23 wrote on December 11, 2014, 12:59 PM

I'm so glad you made it to $25! I am just about done with bubblews too, im in the UK so not for the same reasons you are but just because I don't like how things are going there. I still pop in from time to time but I think if I make another payout I will be done there.

Feisty56 wrote on December 11, 2014, 1:08 PM

I'm sorry that these two sites didn't continue the way they began, but I think you've made a healthy choice in putting not only the sites themselves but your feelings about them in the past. I'm glad you're here and wish you the best of success.

AngelSharum wrote on December 11, 2014, 3:57 PM

Good luck with your new sites for 2015.

maxeen wrote on December 11, 2014, 5:00 PM

Same here ! They don't want to pay me my last $50 I am UK so it doesn't matter where we are from ,so it seems... The new site is too much like bubbles,I am suspicious..

scheng1 wrote on December 11, 2014, 9:42 PM

Before you publish your content here, you have to check if anyone has stolen them. It happens to my articles in Associated Content. Now that the site is gone, I cannot even prove that I am the original writer.

bestwriter wrote on December 11, 2014, 10:42 PM

Bubblews who ? (lol) Having said that I am mostly here although I register at some places but am hardly active in those places.

Dawnwriter wrote on December 11, 2014, 11:19 PM

I love being here too. The people here are intellectually stimulating, something that is in very short supply on some other sites.

Dawnwriter wrote on December 11, 2014, 11:21 PM

Persona paper is my new Helium. It might not make me rich money-wise but some things just enrich a person's soul.

Dawnwriter wrote on December 11, 2014, 11:22 PM

Thank you . I love being here too:)

Dawnwriter wrote on December 11, 2014, 11:22 PM

Thank you :)

Dawnwriter wrote on December 11, 2014, 11:24 PM

Thanks for the tip , i'll do this.

motrojam wrote on December 12, 2014, 7:13 AM

Bubblews is my introduction to writing online. I know my posts aren't that good but through more than a year of writing there I have expanded to other sites too and become more confident online.

LoudMan wrote on December 12, 2014, 9:06 PM

I don't know. Give it time. This is the startup phase. We've nowhere to go but up.

LoudMan wrote on December 12, 2014, 9:10 PM

I can certainly respect your wisdom in writing those DIRTY FILTHY DOGS off. :) I can eventually forgive the ooze about the money. But, I'll never forgive them over my pictures. They don't even have the guts to acknowledge my questions about them. Arvind and Jason only think they're untouchable. It will take me awhile but, I will cost them.

LoudMan wrote on December 12, 2014, 9:29 PM

And, yes, that was "I will cost them" and not "it will cost them."

BrenndaMarie wrote on December 13, 2014, 7:00 PM

I have myself written for both sites. Good luck in everything that you do maybe you will have better luck on other sites.

Crin wrote on December 14, 2014, 7:12 AM

This is the way of life for these sites. Our desire for new venues all the time is our own enemy, and I bet you that this particular site will be having a funeral at one point or another.

LeaPea2417 wrote on December 16, 2014, 6:05 PM

It is sad when sites slowly die, but there are other sites like this one which is growing. Yes, it is good to start fresh when the new year comes around.

Ruby3881 wrote on December 17, 2014, 5:33 AM

Agreed Don! The earnings will get bigger as the site grows.

Ruby3881 wrote on December 17, 2014, 5:38 AM

I'm glad you've been able to find your content so you can use it elsewhere. But how do you delete by proxy?

I think people in the affected countries should at least be allowed to access their content and be paid whatever redemptions were owing them. Bubblews would do a lot to save its name if they also paid for the earnings in users' bank accounts. I wouldn't expect them to even entertain the thought, but a site with class would already have done it.

Do look into filing a complaint with Better Business Bureau - and if not, at least writing a review of the site there. I believe they will accept international reviews and complaints, as long as the company is in the territory they serve (which Bubblews is.) Bubblews is afraid to lose their BBB rating, so even the threat of a complaint seems to perk up a few ears....

LoudMan wrote on December 17, 2014, 6:36 AM

Your point is valid - insofar as this site is ran like all the others. But, with thought and some of that lovely Human innovation, we can be different. We can succeed.

I hope we do.

LoudMan wrote on December 17, 2014, 6:39 AM

I like you, Ruby3881 . The BBB, though, is a good ol' boy network. I'm taking a much more vicious approach. They won't see it coming, if they're awake 24/7 with eyes in all directions. :)

Ruby3881 wrote on December 19, 2014, 7:08 AM

I guess I'll know what you were up to once it's done, Don! But do keep the last of the Four Pillars in mind when plotting. Tends to go better that way...

Porcospino wrote on December 19, 2014, 12:36 PM

I have heard about Helium, but I haven't used the site. I have also left Bubblews, I never received the money from my last redemptions.

simplysara wrote on December 19, 2014, 4:02 PM

What happened to Helium? Is it shutting down too?

Randajad_The_Traveller wrote on December 28, 2014, 11:00 AM

I havent received anything as well, I have been waiting since november.

nbaquero wrote on December 30, 2014, 7:35 AM

Dawnwriter I was never part of Helium but many of my connections were, and I have learned through them it was a great site. With the site shutting down they were forced to move the posts. As per the B site, we all share the same feeling, and moving on is the best way of dealing with it. Good luck with all your 2015 writing efforts, especially here at Persona Paper.

PS. I noticed this was posted under Parenting, just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Dawnwriter wrote on January 4, 2015, 3:51 AM

Thanks. I often mess up with categories. I will correct this.

nbaquero wrote on January 4, 2015, 6:27 AM

No problem DawnWriter good luck and the best in 2015!

GayleStorm wrote on January 6, 2015, 2:12 PM

Do let us know how things go at CGP Gallery. I've looked into it but would really appreciate an honest review. Do you have the same name on Tsu? I'm there and always looking for good people to follow.

soupdragon wrote on January 9, 2015, 4:45 PM

New year, new start. That is how I am feeling at the moment, ready to explore some new sites and hopefully find something more reliable

JenniferMiller. wrote on January 11, 2015, 9:58 PM

I never understood why some people have had issues getting paid by bubblews! I've never had issues regarding payment. I'm still on that site as well. And since I enjoy writing, I thought I would try this site out as well...not for the money of course but for the community!

Dawnwriter wrote on January 11, 2015, 11:32 PM

"some people" might be an understatement . I guess we are international users and thus not very important for Bubblews. I never had any issues before August but after that I lost over $350.

Hollyhocks100 wrote on January 12, 2015, 10:42 AM

I tried my best to keep going on bubblews but with no questions being answered and more and more unfathomable posts from the CEO it has become impossible.
