Christmas Concert a Success…Well Mostly!

I have to say that I really enjoyed the Christmas concert at my grandkids school last night. In an earlier post I talked about being worried about the weather and about their dad arriving home in time. Luckily dad did arrive home just in the nick of time to change clothes and get us there on time.

The weather? Well, it was a bit wet and fog was setting in, but my son is a commercial truck driver so it didn’t bother him, even though it made me nervous. Little Man, the 5 year old was quite adorable in his dress pants, white shirt and vest, at least in the beginning.

During his last performance, we noticed that a shirt tail was hanging out and that to cure his fidgets while standing on the risers singing to us, he decided to roll his tie up and let it unroll and then roll it back up again. But at least he sang!

My granddaughter was quite the sparkling beauty in her sequined dress and enjoyed sitting with her friends. She even sang when her class was brought up to the risers to entertain us. All in all, all of the children were dressed very nice and performed their Christmas songs very well. The music teacher did a fantastic job.

The kids were tired and promptly fell asleep on the couch when we got home. Grandma found out that she could still get a sleeping child into their pajamas without waking them! They both got carried to bed by Daddy and I am sure dreamed about Christmas music.

How I enjoy those concerts...Christmas and otherwise. The tie thing is cute and sure beats nose-picking or making rabbit ears behind the heads of the kids in front of him. : )

We lucked out better than some parents! One particularly little girl that was so adorable in a fluffy red and white candy cane dress was in the front row. She must have gotten a "wedgie" because she saw no issues with reaching under her dress and pulling at her little backside! She didnt even stop singing!

That's just great. The children really enjoy being the centre of attention - well mostly! And it's so good for their confidence.

A concert is always enjoyable and when our own take part that is real icing on the cake.

I think the Little Man did quite well, for a fidgety five-year-old :) Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all!

christmas concerts are usually fun to attend. last year the kids were so dressed up like adorble angels that you can't help but fall in love with their baby voices.
