Are You a Home Body?

Some of you may not be familiar with the term “home body” but it is used quite a bit around my area. A ‘home body” is someone who is quite content to stay at home. They would rather be at home than anywhere else. Some even make excuses not to go anywhere because they prefer to stay home.

I am one of those people. I am not even sure how I got that way because I used to love to go, go, go. In commenting back and forth in an article with inertia4 I discovered that he too is a home body and attributes it to getting older. Maybe that is the key!

Are you a home body or will you get out and go for any reason? Me, I’d rather just sit here at the computer or be in my kitchen cooking or baking than be in a vehicle running around. I guess maybe I am content, huh?

My husband has always been a homebody, I am beginning to get that way.

Must be the "getting older" thing, LOL. Or maybe when we were younger, the stuff out there seemed more interesting. Now a days a person is better off at home away from the craziness in the world!

I rather stay home too, but I have to work else I will starve to death.

Oh I go places I have to go, but if I have a choice, I will opt to stay home!

I recall when I was always on the go, too. I look back at those times and wonder if I was going to something or trying to get away from something.

Hmm you could have a point there, lol. I recall when I thought I had to be out and about, surrounded by friends and fun activities. I thought sitting around home was boring. What a difference a few years makes!

Oh, I am definitely a homebody, and I always have been. It takes a concerted effort for me to get around to going somewhere. Usually by the time I do, it's afternoon rush hour and I won't go because I don't want to fight the traffic. But I've got to get out and go to the grocery store, but I'm pretty sure it's going to get put off until tomorrow.

Must agree with MegL, I'm the homebody in our marriage. As we get older my wife is home more.

LOL that sounds exactly like me! I will actually do without milk or bread or something else I determine "non-essential" for several days before I convince myself to go to the store.

Donna_Thacker I like being productive, so staying at a place where I can focus and work in online stuff (mostly) is where I feel better, so I think by that definition I am a home body. emoticon

I prefer to be home unlike when I was younger when I only went home to sleep...

Yes that is true. At home I am able to jump on the computer and earn when the notion strikes me!

Around here it's better to stay at home than go go go. my neighbourhood is full of gossips which after been told to you, next you'll hear them say it's you that started the gossip, so I may be a home body or it could be because of my nossy neighbours

Donna_Thacker The at home is setting boundaries so we can work with no interruptions.
