Where is the good news?

I went on a rant on facebook earlier. I was frustrated over the amount of people complaining about people complaining about working the holidays. When did buying stuff become more important than family?

I am just tired of all the negative being promoted over the positive. I wish we saw more of the good things going on in the world. They don't have to stop airing the bad things on the evening news, but a little more balance would be appreciated.

I like knowing what is going on. I like to know if there is a danger to me or my family but honestly, the reason I usual turn on the news is to see what the weather is going to be like for the week. Then I switch the T.V. off.

Yesterday we had a police involved shooting in my tiny little town. The first one in 10 years. It happened on a street when my brother and sister-in-law used to live. A 51 year old man kidnapped his 28 year old neighbor. He was shot when he attacked police with a knife. This isn't good news but I was interested in it because it was close to home. Do you know what good things happened in my tiny little town yesterday? I don't have a clue.

There are still good things happening. There are many things to be thankful for. We just have to remember to share the good news as well as the bad.

Unfortunately people WANT to see the bad news, to hear about people being hurt or robbed or worse. Alternatively, many of them want to read about what celebrities are doing, wearing or saying! These are some of the reasons why we got rid of the TV and don't have one!

There is good news in my town but it got over shadowed by some nut who burglarized homes recently and stole their copper wiring ( I am sure he was a drug addict). I just wish the bad news didn't ruin the taste of the good things that are reported.

Here is some good gnus: I got my hair cut yesterday so today while being out in the snow I have less hair to dry when I get back inside.

I suppose good things are taken for granted. They do not come under 'breaking news' :)

That's what Persona Paper is for. We can share lots of good news with each other.

I agree that we are oversaturated by negativity. We need to deliberately bring the positive into our view before we allow the negative to change who we are.
