A request to all old and new PP members.

I have been reading lots of posts on today and I have noticed one thing. Though there are many new posts by new members, which is great, many of them have received very little views.

I think it is a safe guess to say that many old members are receiving about 10-15 views per post and new members about 5-8 views. I think if this trend continues, new members will get disillusioned with the slow rate of their progress bar.

My request to all old and new PP members would be to more with each other. Write as much as you want but also read each others posts and leave thoughtful that are at least 30 characters long. Comments are like little invitation cards that prompt other members to visit your posts too.

Many new members might not know this but you earn a coin for every comment that you leave on other people's posts. I am marching towards my 2000 coins milestone with just 40 posts and a big portion of my coins come from comments.

I think when we write something, we want it to be read by others. However, writing your own articles is like talking while reading is like listening. So to be truly here, you need to interact more by being generous and selfless. Listen to what others have to say so that more people pay attention to your words.

This post is part of my A-W

I would not like to cramp anyone's style' here. All PPers have their own approach. As beginners everyone goes through what you have outlined but slowly they will catch up. As for me I like reading posts and also commenting.

I am new member here and looking forward with positive response. As of this moment I cannot post my own article because my account is still on the pending mode.

That is very true. It's important to comment and find new writers as well as comment on the regulars we are following.

All that new members have to do is to leave meaningful comments on as many posts as they can. As you say a comment is an invitation to a conversation and interaction is the name of game on any site.

i try my best to read as many articles as i can as soon as i log in here. sometimes it takes longer for me to make meaningful comments on some articles while some inspire instant and spontaneous comments.

The key word is Meaningful comment (okay that's two words, lol) I admit I may read an article and not leave a comment simply because I really have nothing meaningful to say or that several others have already said what I might have to say.

You're so right here, Dawnwriter . Interaction is the key and has always been a mainstay of Persona Paper. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know I have been remiss of late in my reading and commenting here. I would also encourage new members to read and make comments themselves. This is one of the best ways to introduce yourself to others here and is much better received than asking for connections outright.

Dawnwriter, you are amongst the most active and I also think amongst the most connected members here :)

Awhile ago, was musing on the same subject, and she wrote "The Persona Paper Membership Comment Contest (http://www.personapaper.com/article/12644-the-persona-paper-membership-comment-project---even-bigger-than-fopp). The idea is to explore the writings of members beyond those that you already know, and, as you so eloquently put it, leave an "invitation card" (in the form of a meaningful comment). My own foray into this has more active on some days, less on other, mainly because my life has a tendency to get in the way, but I have been rummaging through the member list myself, and in the process, I've found that we have some really great writers here. I have faith that the numbers will come in time, it just may take awhile. Like anything worth pursuing, gratification is probably not going to be instant, but over time, it will come.

This is really good information for the new members, who may be liking and viewing and not realizing that none of the users here (not even admin) can see who likes a given post. So if you want to be seen, so we can know to come visit your post, please interact! A note on the profile pays you nothing and really doesn't get a lot of attention. But a thoughtful, topical comment of at least 30 characters will earn you a coin. And it will alert other users to your presence here!

Thank you . If you have any questions, just ask:)

I'm down with this concept. Sharing is caring and there are plenty of opinions to go around. Everyone has their own story to tell yet it is imperative to learn others as well. Get some insight on future works or collaborations.

Good point dawnwriter . I already discovered that before I was approved. Since I couldn't write and publish articles yet at that time, I spent my time reading and commenting. As a result I accumulated a nice bunch of coins at that time. And I continue to do that to this day.

scheng1 wrote on December 2, 2014, 8:21 AM

Since we are paid for the comments, it makes sense for us to leave comments.

Dawnwriter wrote on December 2, 2014, 8:25 AM

For me the more important thing is that it brings people to my posts. What is the use of writing anything if no one reads it?

Your every word is so right, not just at Persona Paper, but in general (online and off.) I thank those members who have responded to my calling card!
