Personal Update, November 17, 2014

Since I last posted, I've been taking it pretty easy, working until I'm tired and then stopping to rest. Although my date had been set for December 1, it has now been postponed until December 5, because it looks like my cardiac clearance won't come through quickly enough. This is because of my little visit to the ER last week and the late date for my treadmill stress test. If I flunk it, there wouldn't be time to work out the complications while so many of the affected medical offices are closed for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, I still have to be at the hospital, which is half an hour away, at 5 AM.

Meanwhile, I have a lot to get done here before the big day. That messy you see in the photo is one important project. I will have to do all my bookkeeping, etc, in this after the surgery, since I won't be able to get to my home office. The room I use for an office here holds everything office related that was my mom's and my in-laws'. As I've been sorting throught the estates, everything that would be used in an office was put into this room. Then when the house was burglarized last year, the buglars threw the contents of the organized boxes all over the floor and emptied all the desk drawers, and then it was all I could do to just get everything off the floor.

Now I've got to get all that stuff on and in the desk organized or thrown away or otherwise disposed of. I need my reference books in the bookcase I've been sorting through, so I can continue to check facts when writing. I want to keep the things in this desk that I actaully will need to use, and I will need the surface clear to write on. The desk itself is an that my dad received from my Cousin Edna when she moved into an assisted living residence before she died.

There are other things in this room I will need to deal with as well. So if you wonder why you don't see me writing much here, this is one reason why. I do pop in to read your posts and comment, but posts probably will be far between.

I was relieved to see that cluttered desk of yours. Mine is not that bad (lol)
Get going BarbRad and once it is done that feeling is great.

I'll be relieved when and if it gets done. We have to leave for a day of medical appointments and shopping tomorrow.

That looks way too much like my house! I hope you get everything organized before your surgery, but don't work too hard trying to get it done. Prayers and hugs. 5 o'clock comes twice a day???

Sorry about that other comment. That pop-over ad grabbed my page while I was about to answer you and I had to go back and I guess the comment to Ellis got repeated. I really hate that "You need to update your flash ad" that takes over the whole window with no exit. I never think to get a screen shot because it happens so fast. As for the surgery, I know I'm in God's hands, however it goes.

Yes, but I have to be at the hospital 5 AM. Doctors don't work after 5 PM except for an emergency.

BarbRad wrote on November 18, 2014, 2:15 AM

Thank you. I really appreciate that.

Good luck with your health and all your appointments, Barb. Looks like you have your work cut out for you. As for the desk and clutter, take it one day at a time, and don't- I repeat- don't let it overwhelm you, no matter what. It can be easy to get over-stressed with such tasks. Just take it a step at a time. Best to you and all you have in front of you.

BarbRad Well, the most important thing here is your health. That comes first. Don't stress it and take your time. You need to be healthy.

AngelSharum wrote on November 18, 2014, 11:59 AM

I hope you do pass the stress test. I'm glad you've been taking it easy.

I hope everything goes well for you at this time. Best Wishes.

Thanks so much for that wise advice and your good wishes.

Thanks. I'm working on it.

BarbRad wrote on November 19, 2014, 5:30 AM

I took it pretty easy until today, but I still got through today.

Thank you. I think I'm going to bed now.
