Taking Stock of Progress

We've just gotten past the halfway point in the month, so I thought I would take a look at where I'm at with DawnWriter 's A-W Category Challenge . I had said I wanted to get through all thirty-six categories – from Animals to Writing – during the month of November. That would mean just a bit more than one category per day.

So far I haven't written as much as I'd have liked – I've only covered ten of the categories when I should have fifteen or more done. So I'm going to try and pick up the pace a bit if I want to finish on time!

Including today there are fifteen more days left in the month. I have twenty-six categories left to write about, so I'm going to try to publish at least one post for this challenge each day, and a second post at least every other day until I'm caught up.

Are you participating in this writing challenge? How are you coming along?

This is my Writing category post

I've not participated in this, though I want to take the time to learn more about it. I'm afraid I won't be able to commit the time it sounds like one needs to to complete the challenge. As it is, I only get on here when I can fit it in, usually in the early morning hours, but once my day gets under way life takes over and, next thing I know, it's the next day.

Challenges are good in that they gourd you into action. All the best. I too have covered quite a bit my ego notwithstanding emoticon

I am not participating in the challenge but I am really enjoying reading the challenge posts.

You are way ahead of me in this challenge...I had made a vow to myself to have it addressed by this time, but I am sorely lacking. I wish you the best of success in meeting your end of the month goal. Go, Kyla, go!

No way am I going to do them all by the end of November...I was thinking more along the lines of by next August...lol

Honestly, the challenge itself doesn't require any additional investment of time. I chose to do it in one month, but you could just as easily give yourself a year to write all the necessary posts...

I have several more ideas for today, but I'm not sure how much I'll get done. Good luck to you with your catching up!

I noticed a lot of people are getting stuck because they are trying to do the categories in order. Most of those who are making progress, are doing the challenge in random order as the ideas come to them :)

I'm not sure I have ever been "gourded" into action. I do have quite a fondness for pumpkins and squash, though.... :P

It is a great idea for a site like Persona Paper. It's encouraging folks to create a wider variety of content, and I hope that spurs us all on even after the challenge is over :)

Kasman wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:43 PM

I haven't even started on this challenge so you are way ahead of me!

Ruby3881 wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:47 PM

You've been busy promoting Persona Paper, welcoming new members, and organizing PP friends on Tsu! That's a lot on your plate!

Ruby3881 wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:56 PM

I think that's probably what a lot of folks are aiming at!

Ruby3881 wrote on November 16, 2014, 3:01 PM

I bypassed a similar challenge several times on Bubblews. It's a pretty big challenge, after all!

Kasman wrote on November 16, 2014, 3:38 PM

Generally speaking I don't go in for these challenges. I just mosey along minding my own business!

I have not participated in this challenge and it is really to late to start now.

Spelling, spelling I say - you know which 'goad' I was talking about emoticon

It sure is good to take stock while carrying out a project as that would help to assess what has been done, what is left to do and then lead to a decision no how much time or resource is needed to complete the project. You are just on point, keep it up.

Ruby3881 wrote on November 17, 2014, 12:48 AM

Since a lot of others only have maybe 2-3 categories covered, it's definitely not too late! I set a goal of finishing in November, but you certainly don't have to.

Ruby3881 wrote on November 17, 2014, 12:49 AM

I'm actually slightly behind, but that's OK! I will catch up :)

Ruby3881 wrote on November 17, 2014, 1:01 AM

I didn't used to do a lot of them, but I started to participate on Bubblews once the focus went all towards social interaction. They do seem to help bolster earnings! Here on Persona Paper, I do them for a different reason. It's more a matter of hoping others will be inspired to write - whether it's that they want to take part in the challenge or because something in my post got them thinking, the more posts on the site the better!

BarbRad wrote on November 17, 2014, 5:21 PM

I normally don't do challenges, since I hardly even have time to post the articles I really want to write. I guess I'm just too independent.
