New Tsu Discoveries

Maybe these things won't be news to other members, but they surprised me a bit. This first thing may have to do with my computer and may not be affecting others. But I've been noticing that comments I've made in reply to people who have commented before me on my post or on the posts of others seem to disappear. I know I've replied, and when I look for them there's no indication, like seeing “unhide” to indicate they have been hidden. Yet they aren't there. Has anyone else noticed this?

Another thing I've noticed is that although it doesn't seem to be in the rules that affiliate links are forbidden, neither do they post. The referral codes just disappear when an affiliate link is posted. So if you are trying to share an affiliate link to something you didn't create on a site like Zazzle, you won't get your referral, but if you did create it and someone buys it, you should get your royalty. I'm glad I learned this early on.

Now that many of you have been around Tsu long enough to notice things, have you picked up anything else I've missed in how Tsu works?

Can't say that i figured out how tsu works as i have yet to earn there. i have been more active accepting friends' requests and following more people. I've also been commenting more but I haven't been sharing much.

Ruby3881 wrote on November 16, 2014, 12:01 AM

So the referral code that's tacked onto a URL is just disappearing? I haven't tried posting any, so I have no idea...

As for disappearing comments, I think there was a glitch. I saw some comments that disappeared when I refreshed a page. And at least one other Tsu-friend mentioned a disappearing comment.

Barbrad I personally have not joined tsu yet, and I don't think I will be doing that soon. Closer to home, congratulations!! Yours is post number 15000 in Persona Paper! A great milestone.

LoudMan wrote on November 16, 2014, 12:45 AM

The ghost comments, they're weird, huh? :) I thought others were deleting their comments on me at first. haha. I'm sure they'll fix it I hope.

For affiliate links, another friend buys those cheap, little .info urls to direct them (and protect your links anyway) Another option might be in putting the link into an image and letting visitors type you in.

Go BarbRad !

That disappearing comment thing happens to me on Bubblews, usually when I compose my long, insightful, worthy-of-a-Pulitzer comments that I can't replicate on a rewrite. It only eats my best ones.

iwrite28 wrote on November 16, 2014, 1:54 AM

Lately I have not been getting a Like button on TSU. I am iwrite28 there.

BarbRad wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:27 AM

I think you earn a bit more if you post something for people to like and comment on.

BarbRad wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:29 AM

They still allow links to promote your products and work on other sites, but even the tracking number on a hub I linked to disappeared.

BarbRad wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:31 AM

Ii know they've been doing some updates, and I must say their updates actually improve the site, unlike the ones at another site I won't mention. Since I posted this I've been noticing little numbers beside the "reply" button under a person's comment, so maybe you can click the number to see the missing comments.

BarbRad wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:32 AM

I hadn't noticed. It's just my lucky day, I guess.

BarbRad wrote on November 16, 2014, 2:35 AM

I've noticed bitlinks don't work well there. The bring up the page, but put the real URL as the link to follow. You can see that if you mouse over the link. The person would have to click on your short link at the top instead of the title of what you are linking to.

Sometimes I click on the like button there and nothing happens. I guess every site has a glitch now and then. I had to shut this page when a nasty notice took it over and said I had to update flash for this to function.

Dawnwriter wrote on November 16, 2014, 3:00 AM

I have not noticed these things on Tsu but I did notice your post is 15,000 on PP. Congratulations. On Tsu I have 3 cents but it is time consuming and I will just log in to share some good motivational stuff and promote my own and other people's posts.

Ellis wrote on November 16, 2014, 9:29 AM

Only got as far as signing up...then I got

iwrite28 wrote on November 16, 2014, 11:42 AM

Good observation Dawnwriter . I was on a lookout for post 15,000 but somehow missed it. Congratulations BarbRad and Persona Paper! :)

On the comments, they group them together. They're still there though for me. On affiliate links, I don't bother posting them there, but I don't doubt it kills affiliate codes, simply because they're worried about abuse of it, really. Honestly Tsu looks pretty good so far.

inertia4 wrote on November 16, 2014, 7:15 PM

BarbRad I am liking it there. I have been posting my links for my content there mostly. I haven't had any problem with them. Interaction again is key there. It seems fun. And whatever I post there I automatically share it to Facebook and Twitter. That works for me.

LoudMan wrote on November 17, 2014, 2:53 PM offers a preview option so the whims of Tsu have no effect. I hope that helps. affiliate marketing seems so difficult as to not be worth it. But those Zazzle links I hear are valuable.

Also, have you considered advertising on PP and Tsu?

tinamarie wrote on November 17, 2014, 3:07 PM

I haven't figured TSU out yet. My ID is TheMainer, so if you see me wondering around in the pictures or in the middle of someone's sentence... please send me in the right direction.

Ellis wrote on November 17, 2014, 4:22 PM comments have disappeared as well...let me know if you figure it out..

Ellis wrote on November 17, 2014, 4:41 PM

I managed to comment by writing in the box provided and instead of clicking on 'comment' by just hitting the enter key...hope that helps..

BarbRad wrote on November 17, 2014, 5:03 PM

You're probably right. I do enjoy Tsu, but it does distract me from work I should be doing here, on my blogs and on HubPages.

BarbRad wrote on November 17, 2014, 5:05 PM

Since a person has to belong to see what you post on the other networks, I would think it wouldn't be much benefit to post the links, except for other members .

BarbRad wrote on November 17, 2014, 5:05 PM

Will do.

I just heard about this site yesterday. I've been offline for awhile, busy with family and work so am playing catch up. I know little about the site, I sure hope it turns out to be legit in the end.

BarbRad wrote on November 17, 2014, 8:08 PM

I think it's legit, but I don't think anyone but those in at the beginning will make much money.

inertia4 wrote on November 18, 2014, 10:05 AM

BarbRad I think I do pretty good. I do get views from Pinterest and Facebook. And Twitter. But I figure the more places I can share my links, the better.

tinamarie wrote on November 19, 2014, 1:48 PM

Probably not, but it's a nice, fresh release from the "crackbook" (facebook) I'm addicted to. If I could get all of my family over to TSU then I would leave facebook and use it only for my recipe page.

BarbRad wrote on November 19, 2014, 9:50 PM

My family hardly even shows up on Facebook very often. They tend not to like to write anything personal and just share stuff others post unless they are photos.

Hi Barb. Good to see you here too. I just signed up today on PP. As for Tsu, I think I caught a few comments disappearing too. But at first I thought it was because those people got banned and their comments removed. But now that I read in the comments here, I see other people are noticing strange things. I am sure whatever it is, that they will fix it. The staff of Tsu seems to definitely be on the ball. And I'm noticing the same here on PP. I was reading through the first posts from Ashly (the owner) and even though they had a rough start, they at least were transparent about it. I think both Tsu and PP will be a great combination for us.

BarbRad wrote on November 22, 2014, 11:29 PM

I think you are right. I attribute my current low earnings to my inability to give more time to this site. I hope to change that when I'm stranded here after my surgery for a couple of months and don't have to go do errands or attend meetings. I'm really glad you're here now, too.
