Sometimes "Honesty is the best Policy" Does not Work

Oh well this time being honest is bad for me. Didn't turn out well. Haha I just found out that having an extension phone I am paying for it at 114 pesos so I wondered why I have been paying over 500 pesos without any long distance .
So now I will have to cut my extensions so i will pay only the basic rate of 332.64 :(. I only had the wireless because of my mom.
A lot of other subscribers have more than 1 extension but they never told. So now being honest did not give me an advantage because I paid extra.
But the only good thing is I have a clear conscience . So I will be doing a lot of overhauling and minimizing bills for lesser payments so I can save.
Starting the New Year (2015) with less expense and updated lines.
But I did not tell on the others because I hate to be a snitch .

I think having a clear conscience is the most important thing. My motto in life is “Right is right even if no one is doing it; wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it.â€

What a pain, to pay for something you're not using.

Sadly, "playing the game" often means half-truths and lies of omission. I'm sorry to hear that your honesty cost you here, but at least you did not dirty yourself by wallowing in the same mud most of the companies operate in.

Sorry you have to pay more, but it is always better to do the right thing in the end.

'Honesty is the best policy' must have been thought up by a politician - and that's a laugh by itself! :)

LOL.. yeah.. honesty can sometimes cost you but in the end... its still the best policy...
be honest even if others are not, will not or can not. or something to that effect (hahaha, I can't remember)
yea, but if you need to have the phone go far, to your room or somewhere, perhaps you can buy an wireless telephone and replace that with the handset given by the telephone company, that way the phone can go far without you having to pay for the extension line

I can remember my parents worrying about having extensions, back in the 80s. They were even told to turn the ringer off on some of their phones, to trick the phone company. As far as I know, though, we were never charged for anything but the service - and the phones themselves, if they were rented from the phone company.
