The Beauty of Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has become both a popular beauty product, as well as a healthier oil for cooking. I just recently discovered this yummy smelling oil after my daughter got a jar for me for my birthday last winter. Who knew just how much I would come to use it on my skin. It has helped to soften up some rough spots, as well as heal some of the eczema that I suffer from most of the time. However, there is more to it than just a skin softener and an oil made for cooking. Here are some other helpful benefits of coconut oil.

Hair Conditioner

Rub a small amount through wet shampooed hair as a great conditioner. Leave on for a few minutes and rinse out. It will leave hair feeling soft and will help aid as a detangler as well.

Soften Lips

This product conditions dry chapped lips just as any Chapstick would do, maybe even better.

Acne and Wrinkle Remover

Some people swear by coconut oil to clear up their acne and to erase wrinkles from aging skin. At the very least, it will condition your skin for a smooth and clearer complexion.

Removes Makeup

You don't have to spend extra money on store bought makeup remover because rubbing coconut oil over your eyes will do the trick. In addition, it also will soften your eyelids in the process.

Shaving Lotion

You can also save money by using coconut oil as a shaving lotion to help moisturize and protect your skin while removing unwanted hair. How cool is that?

There are so many other uses for this beauty product. What do you use it for?

I did not know that it could be used to remove make up. I will surely try this. I usually keep coconuts in my pantry. I love coconuts.

i heard about the above advantages of coconut oil except the Acne and Winkle Remover, I've never think of it. Thanks for sharing. Nice to know it.

Great tips! We only recently started buying coconut oil as well. We learned of the many uses for the stuff, but my favorite is making popcorn. I do it the old-fashioned way, in a covered pot on the stove. I add (a little) salt, and occasionally sprinkle on some nutritional yeast (another new discovery for us). The mix of sweet and salty reminds me almost of kettle corn.

Yes I use coconut oil as well and keep continuing to discover it's many magical uses. I would have never guessed how great it is. My family uses it and so do my pets. Hmm, great idea for my own post too, thanks!

I love the smell of coconut oil. I don't understand how an oil could treat acne, but I'm sure it's a good moisturizer!

I don't use it for anything yet!
I have been reading up on all the things it can be used for. I think it's about time I go out and get some!
