Tricorne China

A friend on one of our Facebook groups recently shared this unique china. She asked if we had any knowledge of it so I did a bit of research for her. This lovely china was made by the Salem China Company and was one of their Tricorne designs. The china was part of the "Dish Night" initiatives in the 1940's to get more ladies to go out to see movies. The china was given out a dish at a time with every movie ticket purchased. The idea was that the lady of the house would go see a movie every week in order to get a new piece of china. Our friend has a complete service for four in nearly unused condition which is quite rare now and highly collectible! It's a great set of china!

That is a beautiful set of china. I have quite a collection of old tea cups and saucers.

That is a pretty set of china above and that is interesting, I didn't realize that they gave out china pieces to the ladies who went to the theater to see a movie back in the day.
