A-W Challenge - "Beauty"

A-W Challenge “Beauty”

A Place of Beauty and Serenity

Beauty - Is it a place, object or an idea that gives pleasure to the eye or satisfaction to the heart or soul?

Today I am doing my A-W Challenge and I’m writing about beauty. Instead of writing what the definition from the dictionary or a search engine, I thought I would write about one of the most beautiful places that mean beauty and serenity to me.

This picture was taken by me on one of my visits back home to Florida. I always try to revisit this same place each time I go. It’s Banyon Street on Gasparilla Island, Boca Grande, Florida.

Each time I go I park in front of the largest tree and sit there for at least 30 minutes and listen to the sound of the birds and the ocean, which is just a block or so away from this lovely street. I find so much peace and serenity here and all the troubles and stress seem to just roll out with the waves and the wind.

When you look up to the sky, the trees cascade over you with such beauty and calm they have me captivated each time. It is a place that has with stood all elements of Mother Nature. After all, Mother Nature had a hand in making this beautiful spot and I can’t see her coming in and destroying it.

I have been going to this beach and riding down this road since I was a little girl and took my children almost every Sunday while they were growing up. They still remember this place and sitting there with me just taking in the majestic sounds.

What does beauty mean to you? Is it just a word? Do you feel it in your soul or is it appeasing to the eyes? Where do you find beauty?

Oh, and the "beauty" of this post is it's my 100th

tinamarie Nice to know you are a Floridian. I think I would visit Boca Grande next time I am in the Florida West Coast . Earlier this year we visited Sanibel Island ( in May) so we were pretty close to your home. BTW, good luck with this challenge!

I can see with my eyes why this place is special to you and can imagine with my mind the tranquility you find not only in the sights and sounds, but with the familiarity.

Enjoying the chirping of birds along with the roar of the ocean is a rare combination. I get to hear the chirping of birds every single day in my very own garden but for the sound of the ocean I need to travel a bit may be a 20 minute ride but there I will not get to hear the chirps.

That is a beautiful place. For me, beauty is most often seen in a tree or the sky, or a tree framing the sky.

Thank you! I'm going back for a visit soon and you can bet I'll be right at that spot.

It's lovely and you get the smell of the ocean, which is relaxing in itself.

I agree.
