Rain- Our Halloween Treat
The photo you see here was taken a couple of hours ago. It felt as though rain would come at any time and rain was in today’s forecast. But as the day went on, I wondered if it would rain after all. There were periods when the sun shone brightly, and then it would disappear behind the clouds again.
We are in Templeton today, and this photo was taken from the orchard looking out toward the neighbor’s vineyard. The hawk was a happy accident who decided to fly into the photo as I snapped it. Another Halloween treat for me. I can’t seem to get these shots when I try. Here’s a crop that shows off the bird more.
After lunch, while my tea was steeping, I went out to get another bag of apples from the tree. Then I went back to collect a small box of walnuts from the ground. I barely made a dent in the walnuts, and there are still lots of apples where I can’t reach them on the tree, but I’ve done what I had the time and energy for today.
Now I will settle back, write, read, and listen to the rain on the roof.
Hallelujah! Our first rain of the new rainy season. An answer to prayer.
