Stinking Dog Owners

Dogs

Now let me be quite clear right from the start. This does NOT apply to the dogs themselves. I like dogs, we used to own a dog. The dogs themselves are not the problem - it's their owners, or some of them. I know there are responsible dog owners out there, I used to be one of them.

Dog Dirt

As you may have guessed, this is about the dirt left behind by dogs, dog poo and those irresponsible owners who do not clean it up, as they are required by law. We live in a town. People walk on pavements, have small children and push prams on pavements (or footways) and they don't need to have to look out for dog dirt as well. Out in the countryside may be different but in a town dog owners should clean up after their dogs.

Right at the Gate

Someone's dog left a parcel right at my gate yesterday and I trod in it because i was concentrating on opening and closing the gate. It was left right beside the gate, in the middle of the pathway. There is no way that owner could think that that was acceptable - to allow their dog to dirty right at the entrance to someone's garden?

Dog Poo Fairy

As some of our local rubbish disposal bins have written on them - "There is no such person as the Dog Poo Fairy! Clean up after your dog!"

Despite there being a law it is disturbing that people break it. I read somewhere when one of her dogs messed the place Queen Elizabeth cleaned it herself.

It is interesting you mention this today because we have had the same problem in our neighborhood and also we have to deal with dog poo smell and people letting their dogs roam free. It is really annoying to be taking a walk in the neighborhood and having dogs trying to play with you or barking at you.

Eww. Love the picture haha. Hey, if you ever determine it to be a repeat offender, make some beef gravy and pour it on top of the pile, before you anticipate the visit. Dogs really will eat anything. Then, be out there for the dog owner and let them know what treat you left them.

Fortunately, most of the folks who walk their dogs in our neighborhood clean up after their dogs. It's a good thing, too, because many of them use those leashes that expand and allow their dogs to walk up into people's front lawns along the way.

I am always appalled at the irresponsible dog owners who bring their canine to a public rest area or park and leave the dog's "gift" behind.

As a ex-dog owner I agree wholeheartedly with you..

Dog Poo Fairy - I like that. Perhaps the dog was running free? Which still lays it on the owner.

Maybe we could get the 'Dog Poo Fairy' to leave a little parcel under the offending owner's pillow! That'll sort them out.

That is unethical not to follow the existing law. Here in my place, at two people walking there dogs in the morning or afternoon - I see them bringing a cleaning props with them so anytime the dog poo they can pick up it immediately.

Every morning our 60-year old housemate cleans the dogs' dirt in front of the apartment -- we have a lot of street dogs here.

Yes, they even let them roam on the local football field where kids as well as adults play football or practise.

I heartily agree. Even in the country, if you are sharing a property with someone else, you should not send your dog out unattended to do his business. Either confine the dog on the part of the property you have the right to occupy or be there to clean up after him. Our previous tenant would let her dog loose, and she would do her business near my sheds. The pine needles would cover it so I didn't know it was there. The owner would get made at me if I mentioned that she should not let the dog loose. It wasn't her shoes that got ruined.

Folks in Canada have been picking up their dog poop for quite some time now, but there is always that one person who lets the dog run loose and pretends not to know when they've left a gift on a neighbour's lawn. We had such a neighbour in our previous home. It's so frustrating!

I can definitely see Her Majesty cleaning up after her own dogs! She is a classy lady, and being a responsible pet owner is a manifestation of class :)

ewwww, there is nother worse than dog poo on your shoe. Most people around here clean up, but there's always a few.

Cor! You don't know the half! Or maybe you do ! We used to have a shop and lived at the back part. Lovely breakfast then a quick read of the dailies! One of us would take the dogs out(not forgetting the dog poo bags) whilst the other one opened up the shop. yes ! Dog poo all over the shop step which meant ages cleaning up and customers trying to push past to get into the shop----Owners allright !

I wonder why they do not clean up, since they are walking the same pavement so many times a month. They sure will enjoy a clean pavement.
