What Has Been Your Favorite Halloween Costume Ever?

Halloween is a time of fun for kids and can bring some fond memories of past Halloween nights for us adults as well. I remember the excitement of picking out a costume and the thought of getting all of that candy to be able to go through when I got back home. I also remember how my mom always made sure that there were plenty of doughnuts and apple cider to last the night.

I sure don't remember all of the costumes I wore while growing up but I do remember being the typical witch and a few others. But the one that has always been my favorite has been dressing up as a gypsy. I loved everything about that outfit. It was black with gold trim all over. The skirt was full at the bottom so when I twirled, it spun around with me. it was fun and I wore that darn thing several times until I eventually grew out of it. My sisters and I...there were three of us...took turns wearing it.

I am not sure but I think that my mom still has that outfit hanging in her closet. What fun memories it has held after all these years. Of course, things have changed these days with Halloween costumes. Some I would not want my kids to wear.

What has been your favorite costume ever that you wore to go trick-or-treating?

My favorite was also the Gypsy! Thanks for reminding me! Now I will have to find that picture and post it. That year was a very good year for us kids. I remember it just being a happy year. I believe I was 9 years old.

to be honest i have not joined any halloween party or celebration ever since i was little. my generation was not used to wearing costumes and trick or treating in malls like our kids now.

My favorite was a Spanish Seniorita (aka Flamenco dancer). My most unique was as a trick or treat bag. My Mom cut out holes for my head and arms from a commissary bag (they were quite large when I was a kid living on a military base). It was a great costume, but ripped easily.

I like Beetlejuice. He is like a cross between Albert Einstein and and NFL referee.

When I was in kindergarten my mother took some pretty kitchen sheers she was no longer using, and turned them into a dress and bonnet for me. I was Little Bo Peep in that outfit - a white dress with sort of dark yellow-green trim. I outgrew the costume by the next Halloween and was terribly upset about it, because it was my favourite one ever.
