My lovely cat hair

Hi. Lovey, the cat, here.

This is the latest rule that Mom told me. I am not supposed to sit on the couch. Isn't that the pits? Mom tells me I can sit on the floor or in her lap or in Dad's lap or on her 'puter chair. But not on the couch, because I leave my lovely cat hair there.

Only she didn't call it lovely. She called it, " Danged cat hair."

I think a little cat hair on the clothes makes a human look so much better. I also think Mom is a person who likes rules. A lot ! And me being a Cat (with a capital "C"), I don't like rules.

Except for these rules, which I made up:

Mom must hold me whenever I want, even if it means she can't type at the 'puter.

Dad must play Fetch the Mousie with me at least ten times a day.

I should be allowed to eat potato chips and French fries whenever I want, because I love dem!

So, there you have it. The only rules that are any good. And I have to go now, because Mom is busy and maybe I can sneak back onto the couch.

Until next time ... with mews, purrs, and cat kisses!

~ Lovey

Hey Lovey, I think your Mom is on to something with looking out for your girlish cat figure. Those chips and fries eaten now may come back to haunt you later.

I think your rules are far better.

Me, too. And I like you because you think like a cat! ♥

momathome wrote on October 23, 2014, 1:59 PM

Tigeress (my cat) told me to tell you to just go right ahead. If your momma tells you to get down just open one eye and remind her that you are her owner -- not the other way around! lol. That's what she does with me.

Hi Dog! Yup, Mom let's me use the 'puter. I think it's because I'm a C. A. T. Since you are a D. O. G., maybe you will have to talk harder for your mom to let you use it. But I have to tell you, Ruby, that for a dog, I think you're pretty cool! ♥

This is Guiness the Cat. I agree with Tigeress, Lovey. It's YOUR couch after all. You have every right to get cat hair on it.

Lovey, pusscat, it is a shame you never met Anna and Polly, my ex-landlady's two tabbies. They looked just like you, and had the same attitude to sleeping everywhere they fancied. In the printer, on my bed, on the chair in my room that HAPPENED to contain my drying bathtowel, on my pillow, on the sofa, keeping my husband and I apart when we were sitting on said sofa during our dating years. Oh, and yes, in mum's arms when she was supposed to be earning Whiskas-Generating-Income for them.

Oh Tigeress, you are a smart cat. I'll try the one-eye-open trick and see if it works! ♥

Hi Guiness. High fives and purrs to you. You are so right that it is my couch. I heard a saying that was true. Dogs have people and cats have staff. But, Mom didn't like it when I told her she was staff, so I'll just keep that a secret from her. Maybe you shouldn't tell Debbie that, either.

Anna and Polly sound like very nice cats. And smart ones, too. I've never slept on the printer, but if they liked it, it might be worth a try. And I've stolen Mom's bath towel, and tried to steal something that she called a bra . It was a little hard to drag off the bed and around the room when she was trying to get dressed. I thought it was pretty fun, and Dad kept laughing, but Mom put me out of the room and shut the door. Maybe next time I'll go for the panty hose instead.

I do have a girlish figure. I think it stays that way because I chase mousies. In which case, don't you think I could still eat French fries? Or maybe I should switch to popcorn? ♥

DorothyGale I'll let her know you said so. Tigeress won't lower herself to typing at the keyboard, that is what her servant (mom) is for! lol.

You must have met Lolly the stray. This is he. I have no such problems as you have. I am a stray with no rules whatsoever. Gertting ideas I bet emoticon

I'm not a cat mom, but a cat hostess.I make the house rules here, but try to be considerate when I have feline guests. They like cat treats and expect me to fill a water bowl on my porch for them, but I've never tried giving them potato chips. I never expected they would like them, and their people might not think chips would be good for them.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff. Hellz ya.

momathome wrote on October 24, 2014, 6:01 PM

WordChazer I actually have a Christmas tree ornament that says that! lol

Anna and Polly were lovely cats, and very smart. They crossed the Rainbow Bridge a few years ago now. My ex-landlady is a former librarian, now a bibliographer, proofreader, writer, indexer and editor, so she needs literary cats around her. Printers, according to Ms Anna, were warm and cozy in her twilight years, and she still had the ability to get up onto the desk, unlike Polly, who used to prefer the airvents of the heating system, or a laundry nest. Bras are fun things to steal. Panty hose are a bit more of a challenge as they wrap themselves around things more. So I have been informed by various friends' cats over the years.

This is Guiness the Cat. No, I've already let Debbi know what her place is and what I expect from her.

Hi Lovey! It's Mildred the Cat. So good to find you here! My mom tried early on to keep me off certain things like the couch but she has long given all that up. Maybe your mom will too.
