Neil Diamond Releases New Album, Prepares for 2015 Tour

Neil Diamond, song writer and singer, is currently making the rounds on TV and radio talk shows to get the word out about his newest album, " Melody Road ," and upcoming tour of the United States, Canada and Europe.

If you are younger than 40 years old, you may not be too familiar with Diamond or his music much past "Sweet Caroline," but anyone older than that has heard of, or is a fan of, this Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame artist.

Diamond will be 74 years of age when he begins his 2015 tour in Allentown, Pennsylvania on February 27. From the songs I've heard from "Melody Road," his voice is as strong as ever. There is some of the usual melancholy to his music and lyrics of insights in his life that strike a chord with most of us.

I've been a fan of Neil Diamond since I first heard him sing, around 1974. He and I have grown up together, separately. I'd love to attend what is almost certain to be his final tour, but then again, you never know with this man who so obviously loves to make music.

I am well over 40 and grew up listening to Neil Diamond.

It's difficult for me to think of a time when his music wasn't part of my life.

I just love Neil Diamond's music, am a friend on Facebook. I also have several of his albums. My son lives real close to Allentown. Hope he goes in my stead.

Hearing Neal Diamond songs always reminds me of my late husband. He absolutely loved Diamond and had all of his albums. It's still kind of hard for me to listen to any of them but I at least have them.

I love Neil Diamond. I listened to him as a teen and still do now. His voice is still as good as ever too!

Reminds me of the early seventies...

My favorite of all of his albums is the original "Hot August Night." I can't listen often enough to it.

I am hoping if I talk real nice to my fella, he may agree to go to a concert with me -- there will be several in cities within driving distance.

I can understand that, Donna. Maybe as time moves forward you will find a way to enjoy the music again. I hope that you can.

Yes, the voice is still there. It's hard for me to see how old he is, partially because it reminds me I am no longer 16 either.

It does, doesn't it? We were so young and optimistic then...

All the singers and bands I like are old now and I cannot believe it. (Well, Bon Jovi is well preserved!). I feel like they got old but I didn't. But I did. I really, really did! lol

Yeah..and then it all turned to sh*t...lol

I know. Looking at Bob Seger, even listening to Bob Seger these days is almost painful. I flipped out when I saw a recent photo of David Cassidy. I never particularly liked him, but think of him as a contemporary. Oh my gosh! He looked so OLD. A trip to the mirror confirmed I was older, too.

That's one way of putting it...I prefer to think of it as our generation didn't rise to the occasion are proficiently as we might have. : )

I'm listening to the song you linked right now. He sounds just as strong as ever! I'm going to have to look for more songs from the album emoticon
My favourites are songs from "Hot August Night" - songs like "Crunchy Granola Suite" and "Morningside" - and of course I grew up hearing "Song Sung Blue!"

Good and fine to know that. I will spare some time to listen to his music from now on.
