What Cats Will Do
The kitty you see in the photo is Bella. Yes, she is beautiful. But she is a cat. She is lying here a few minutes before my nephew's wedding in his home where everyone is getting ready to leave. She is watching everything going on. Everyone who lives in the house, has been staying in the house as guests before the wedding, and my husband and myself, are waiting for anyone in the wedding party to do whatever else they need or want to do before they depart.
This would include getting the groom ready to go. He had arrived from somewhere about twenty minutes before departure time and still had to dress.
It also included admiring my sister-in-law's new hair style.
The plan was that everyone would be leaving at the same time, since we would be caravaning. The groom would lead the way in his truck, since he's the only one who had been to Crystal Cove State Park. The others only had a vague idea of how to get there. It's important that the groom and other members of the wedding party, including the best man and the groom's parents, arrive on time. If they don't, they will miss the last shuttle that was hired to take everyone from the parking lot to the beach which is across a major highway.
Finally it appeared that everyone was ready to go out to the five waiting vehicles. The front door was open as people trailed out. Bella decided to leave with everyone else and ran out the open door. So before the caravan could leave, Bella had to be captured. Two people took off after her and she was finally captured by my sister-in-law. (Sorry the photo is a bit blurry. I didn't have time to focus much. I pointed and shot and the subjects were moving.)
Fortunately, everyone still arrived at the wedding on time. But one determined cat can sure cause a commotion. Why do cats choose such times to stop napping and throw a monkey wrench into a lot of careful planning on the part of humans?
