What Cats Will Do

The kitty you see in the photo is Bella. Yes, she is beautiful. But she is a cat. She is lying here a few minutes before my nephew's wedding in his home where everyone is getting ready to leave. She is watching everything going on. Everyone who lives in the house, has been staying in the house as guests before the wedding, and my husband and myself, are waiting for anyone in the wedding party to do whatever else they need or want to do before they depart.

This would include getting the groom ready to go. He had arrived from somewhere about twenty minutes before departure time and still had to dress.

I took the photo.

It also included admiring my sister-in-law's new hair style.

I took the photo.

The plan was that everyone would be leaving at the same time, since we would be caravaning. The groom would lead the way in his truck, since he's the only one who had been to Crystal Cove State Park. The others only had a vague idea of how to get there. It's important that the groom and other members of the wedding party, including the best man and the groom's parents, arrive on time. If they don't, they will miss the last shuttle that was hired to take everyone from the parking lot to the beach which is across a major highway.

I took the photo. Finally it appeared that everyone was ready to go out to the five waiting vehicles. The front door was open as people trailed out. Bella decided to leave with everyone else and ran out the open door. So before the caravan could leave, Bella had to be captured. Two people took off after her and she was finally captured by my sister-in-law. (Sorry the photo is a bit blurry. I didn't have time to focus much. I pointed and shot and the subjects were moving.)

Fortunately, everyone still arrived at the wedding on time. But one determined cat can sure cause a commotion. Why do choose such times to stop napping and throw a monkey wrench into a lot of careful planning on the part of humans?

The feline personality is one of the great mysteries of the universe. I used to have a Chinchilla Persian, and she never ceased to amaze me with her quirky behavior!

Ah, c'mon now, we know the answer to that question, don't we? Cats throw a monkey wrench into even the best laid human plans because they CAN. lol : )

Kitteh wanted an adventure and got one, albeit short.

I am not so sure which picture is more attractive. The cat or the nice hair do !

Cuteness is as cuteness does.

BarbRad wrote on October 21, 2014, 4:58 PM

Very true. And no two cats are alike except in their desire to be in control.

BarbRad wrote on October 21, 2014, 4:58 PM

Very true.

BarbRad wrote on October 21, 2014, 4:59 PM

I think it was Bella's humans that had the adventure.

This was just as much about the flavor of wedding preparations at the groom's home as it was about the cat.

That must have been a scene - I mean running after the cat and that too in their 'Sunday best' :)

This is (snicker, snicker) Guiness the (snicker) Cat. Seriously (snicker), what did you EXPECT Bella to do?

paigea wrote on October 21, 2014, 8:49 PM

I have had my share of events disrupted by cats and dogs! hmmm, maybe you've given me an idea for a little post. :D

If you humans ever work out the the mind of us cats... well, the world will probably come to an end. emoticon  But have fun trying. :)

Their wedding best, to be exact. Good thing it wasn't the bride that had to do the chasing.

BarbRad wrote on October 22, 2014, 12:51 AM

Not that.

BarbRad wrote on October 22, 2014, 12:52 AM

It ought to be interesting. Looking forward to reading it.

BarbRad wrote on October 22, 2014, 12:53 AM

Cats do make life more interesting.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on October 22, 2014, 1:35 AM

You should have asked me what she would do. I could have told you in advance. Sincerely, your friend, Guiness.

JanetJenson wrote on October 22, 2014, 1:47 AM

Bella does not look too happy with all the commotion, so I am not surprised that this kitty started one of its own.

BarbRad wrote on October 22, 2014, 1:22 PM

Perhaps Bella was getting less attention when people's attention turned in other directions, and she wanted to be the focus again.

AliCanary wrote on October 22, 2014, 4:58 PM

Poor Bella! She put up with all the activity as long as she could, but she was probably pretty overwhelmed.

Nice cat and good phontos to. But Cats are little bit tricky if they are not fed well.

Jadecat777 wrote on October 23, 2014, 10:07 AM

Cats are very unpredictable creatures; your dress and hair looks beautiful. I love my cats but it would have been nice to know what is going on in their minds.

BarbRad wrote on October 23, 2014, 10:41 PM

It may have been all the strangers that had been staying for a couple of days.

BarbRad wrote on October 23, 2014, 10:42 PM

I'm quite sure this cat is getting the proper diet.

BarbRad wrote on October 23, 2014, 10:43 PM

That's not me in the photo. I'm the one taking the photos. My hair is very short.

Jadecat777 wrote on October 24, 2014, 3:54 AM

I am sorry I guess I didn't really see this one coming. You do take nice pictures though.
