Rediscovering the power of makeup at 30-something
I've recently rediscovered the joy of makeup. That may sound silly or like I'm trying to be funny, but I assure you I'm not. In my late teens and early 20s you would have been hard-pressed to find me outside my house without a full face of makeup, but in my mid 20s that changed. I don't know what happened, but I suddenly stopped using makeup. Sure over the years I have used it a few times, but it hasn't been a part of my normal routine. However, that has recently changed.
About a month ago I stumbled onto a YouTube channel of a beautiful young lady who share a tutorial on applying her current makeup look. The first thing I noticed was that her application techniques are drastically different from what I was thought all those years ago. After watching a number of her videos, I decided to break out my old makeup to give it a try. It took me a bit longer than it probably should have, but once I was done and saw myself, I was hooked. The next weekend I went out and purchased new makeup to match my current skin and complexion, and I couldn't be happier.
I can't even explain how I feel when I walk past a mirror and actually like the way my face looks. It's an awesome thing.
What's your favorite makeup look? Do you prefer a bold lip or eye, or are you a neutral type of person?
