A Real Easy Way to Help Bring More Visitors to PersonaPaper!

For those of us who are StumbleUpon users, we can help bring this awesome site of ours a lot more visitors and visibility.

I think, as members of a fledgling site like ours, we owe it to each other and ourselves, to build this up to everything it can be.

And it is so durned easy to do, too!

Give the homepage a Stumble! Sure, we can still Stumble our individual articles and those from our friends.

Nobody is saying to not do that. But, I'm suggesting we ALL get on the bandwagon and promote the homepage itself, too!

We'll each be marketing one another, to everyone each of us deals with, this way. It will be sort of like doing one day's work, while enjoying the effect of ten day's work. Sound good?

Great! Visit the following link and give a thumbs-up my way to help others find the PersonaPaper homepage too.

Man, Bubblews is closed!

I think this is a splendid idea, all except for the use of StumbleUpon -- at least for me. I was active there for a while, but really couldn't get the hang of it.

brown-paw ??? Really? They seemed up, just now.

Feisty56 It's a bit different. Basically, each like OR dislike a page gets is a back-link and more back-links mean more people able to see you to give you a back-link.

Wow do people still use stumbleupon? its been years since I have been on there. I will go and install the toolbar on this laptop now and see if my account is still active, I had quite a good following there way back when

LoudMan wrote on October 11, 2014, 12:56 PM

They're still around. Good to see you again.

melody23 wrote on October 11, 2014, 1:01 PM

I am having issues with their site it doesn't seem to be loading properly and I cant find a way to download the toolbar but I did manage to log in so I do still have an active account there.

LoudMan wrote on October 11, 2014, 1:53 PM

kewl. Now, were you the poor soul I sent a FB friend request to, Melody23 ?

melody23 wrote on October 11, 2014, 2:44 PM

Not that I am aware of, I use my real name on facebook so I might be hard to find lol although I do keep meaning to set up another page for my writing stuff but never got round to it. I almost wish I could change my username here, I went with the same name I use for that other place because at that time I thought this place could end up similar and I didn't want my freelance clients being able to associate me with crap like that, now I know this place is cool I kinda which I could change it, but then it adds to the mystery I guess!

I use Stumbleupon to promote blog posts and have used it for here too and got a few more views for my longer posts (I haven't used it for short posts).

LoudMan wrote on October 11, 2014, 7:58 PM

I'm pretty sure it was your fb profile. Check your "other" inbox over there. Anyhoo. Sometimes, it would be cool to change a username, hey?

allen0187 wrote on October 11, 2014, 8:27 PM

Haven't used Stumble Upon in a long, loooonnnnggggg while. I'm surprised they are still up. Anyway, any idea to promote Persona Paper is worth a shot.

You have to be careful with campaigns like this. They can backfire if it appears that links are coming in too fast for the same site. You need to also post other links you are not connected with and be diverse. It would be better to pass on individual articles that are likely to get voted up. If you see Persona Paper articles on there, vote them up. It would also help if we followed each other there. You can add the ap for StumbleUpon to Hootsuite so you can see the feed without having to go to the site. I haven't been keeping up with this site most of the time because it's so much trouble. If we followed each other, I could easily see the recommendations from others and give them a thumbs up.

Yikes! What have they done to StumbleUpon? The bookmarked pages fill the screen and I can't see my profile hidden underneath to even see who I am following. Maybe someone should post how to use this site in its new form.

I never really got into it either, Deb. I tried interacting but mostly ended up getting sent a bunch of links I didn't really have an interest in.

melody23 wrote on October 12, 2014, 7:09 AM

Ok I will have a look. I would like to change my username, but on the other hand you wouldn't want people changing their usernames all the time, it would get confusing.

melody23 wrote on October 12, 2014, 7:13 AM

You must have great detective skills lol, I didn't have a friend request but I did get your message. If you ever get bored of this writing stuff perhaps a career as a private eye could be for you?

LoudMan wrote on October 12, 2014, 10:39 AM

Sometimes it's like that. Every online sharing tool is. :)

LoudMan wrote on October 12, 2014, 10:40 AM

No friend request? :O Well, at least now I KNOW you're actually as cute as you seem to be. :D

melody23 wrote on October 12, 2014, 10:58 AM

Aww your such a sweetie, although now you can also see how crazy I am which may not be a good thing!

melody23 wrote on October 12, 2014, 11:01 AM

The new site is really confusing isn't it? I used to be a regular there, years ago when there was a big network of writers on there. I cant even figure out how to install the toolbar!

LoudMan wrote on October 12, 2014, 1:22 PM

...you say this like it's a bad thing?

LoudMan wrote on October 12, 2014, 1:26 PM

MegL allen0187 BarbRad melody23 Just remember, I'm only suggesting we make a mad dash of promoting the PP home page, itself. This way, we're each bringing visibility to all of us, at the same time. If a bunch of individual posts at one time come in, sure, big trouble. But, if one particular page just happens to get a lot of likes and dislikes, this is merely, "going viral."

AliCanary wrote on October 13, 2014, 1:53 AM

Yet another site that looks kind of interesting but I don't belong to. Maybe I'll go on a "joining blitz"!

inertia4 wrote on October 14, 2014, 9:50 PM

LoudMan I think promotion of Persona Paper on any site is a positive thing.

Jadecat777 wrote on October 23, 2014, 9:00 AM

I think that is a great idea, and even though I don't know StubleUpon I have found many found many of my active followers on Bubblews here as well.
