Sarah and Garfield Are Becoming Quite a Team

These two who belong to my neighbors are spending a lot more time than they used to hanging out on my porch together. Sarah, the tuxedo cat, is still the main guard cat and chief extortionist, but now she is often joined by Garfield. The sight you see here is what met me last time I drove in. How could I not take this photo?

Once I'm in the house, they turn around and stare at me through through the sliding glass door. I carry everything I need upstairs and do my work, and when I come back down, they are still there, waiting to see if I will give them treats. If I do, Garfield tries to steal Sarah's, but she fends him off. When it appears he won't get more, he leaves. Not Sarah, though. I will often see her still there by the door when I leave at almost midnight. She is very patient. Always hoping here will be another treat coming if she waits long enough.

I am charmed that you care for your neighbours' pets. In a way it is a less of a bother as the full responsibility is of the neighbours. They look well fed though.

The neighbors are gone most of the day -- when we are most likely to be home. I love having the fun without much responsibility.

Lolly is one such example,. I really do not know if he belongs to any one but he will come early in the morning have his feed sleep in the hall for a couple of hours and then he vanishes only to return for a while for another tidbit in the evening. He knows I am at the pc. He will start meowing outside next to the window where I sit and keep walking singing away until he reaches the kitchen door (lol)

Garfield is no fool, is he? He has teamed up with the queen of treat beggars. I enjoy my neighbor's two cats, too. They don't come by for treats, but they're not adverse to a tummy scratch now and then.

They do know how to get what they want!

Sarah sometimes just wants to be petted and has even ignored a treat at such times. Garfield is a different story.

Garfield sounds almost like his Jon Davis-created namesake!

They look like the Odd Couple from that TV show!

Maybe that's why he got the name.

I can't address that, since I've never seen the TV show.

Sarah sure looks like she takes her guard duty seriously! Her posture says it all!

She's a good watch cat. She likes to keep track of our comings and goings.

:) Maybe he also likes lasagna...

I don't know. If I had time to make some, I wouldn't be giving it to Garfield.

He is a cute cat, all kidding (and comic strip references) aside. So's Sarah!
