Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Design

As some of you may know from reading a couple of my recent articles, I was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension this month. While mine is in the early stages and not too bad yet, others are not as fortunate. I have a friend who has the version caused from blood clots in her lungs. She has almost died a few times already, is on oxygen constantly and is literally fighting for her life. There are thousands of others in the same shape.
I wanted to create a design that was cute but also brought awareness for this progressive, often fatal condition. I believe I came up with something that people will like. My only problem will be getting it out there.
I did the shirt on cafepress. I have other things on there. One of my lineman designs sells a couple shirts each month. I would be happy if this design did as well.
I plan to give half of all the proceeds to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share the design I came up with and see what y'all think. I really like it. I even ordered myself a t-shirt.

I think it's a great design. I hope you sell lots of them. Do you tweet the link?

If there is an organisation for Pulmonary Hypertension try advertising it there..

That is a great looking design! The tag line 'I give a hoot!' is witty as well.
How much us the shirt?

I love the design.

Very thoughtful design and colors. Did your diagnosis include which type?
AngelSharum wrote on October 1, 2014, 10:53 AM
I put it on Facebook and Twitter, yes. Just not sure how many people I know on there will want one.

I asked if I can post on the Pulmonary Hypertension Association page. Waiting to hear back from them. They were going to let me use their name for endorsement when I was going through teespring, but I couldn't use my design there. It has too many colors for the way they print. I'm not sure what the association is going to think about doing it this way.

Thank you. I love owls so I had to put one in the design. The shirts start at $11.99 so it isn't a bad price. I have some other things in the store as well like bags, coffee cup, etc that I hope people like.

Thank you. I'm glad y'all like it.

I don't know what type yet. I have to have a pulmonary function test, a VQ Scan where they see if I'm throwing blood clots and eventually a catheterzation of the right side of my heart to have a definitive diagnosis. Not sure when all that will be done, except the PFT is Oct. 14.

I hope your condition is treatable.

Could you advertise it on a website devoted to the topic or put it in a sig line on your email in a discussion group devoted to it?

That's really scary! I'm glad you're raising awareness. What an adorable design!!

If it is caused by something else they can treat that, and if they get it under control the PH can go into remission so to speak. As long as the underlying condition stays good it might too. Otherwise, you just treat the symptoms.

It is scary. It's awful for some people. Thanks. I do like the design.

This is quite interesting. I like the caption I give a hoot. I am certainly convinced that it would sell; just focus on marketing it well on social media sites

Yeah, I'm not the best at that but I'm going to try.

Angel, that is the cutest logo! And what a wonderful project for a charity :)

It would depend one group I think. I've been trying to get it out and my friends have been sharing as well.

Thank you. I do like my little owl.
AngelSharum wrote on October 4, 2014, 2:57 PM
Thanks. Haven't sold any yet but maybe soon.
Ruby3881 wrote on October 7, 2014, 3:01 PM
Best of luck with the sale, Angel! I know it can be slow going, but I'm sure eventually they'll catch on. If you send me the link for your shop on Facebook, I'd be happy to share it :)

I will do that. Thanks!

My landlady has PPH and just this last year began having to have oxygen while she sleeps. But, she's also someone who never stops, even though her doctor has told her to cut back on some of her activities. Instead, she dug in her heels and became even more active in politics and the Hibernians. Plus, she is who the family tends to lean on for all their problem resolutions, so she doesn't really slow down. Still, she's doing well, despite this. And, the main ingredient in Viagra has helped improve her pulmonary blood pressure. I do like your Give a Hoot. I would share the item link with her if you posted it.
