Sixth Biopsy for the Year

I went to my dermatologist yesterday for my six-month checkup. I was afraid she might take more chunks out of me than she did, but, thankfully, it was only one this time.
She did a biopsy of a mole on my inner thigh. This is not the best place to have a biopsy for little fat people such as myself. :) I'm surviving though and it's not as bad as I feared. This biopsy made my sixth for the year.
My regular doctor's nurse first noticed some moles she thought needed looked at and brought them to the attention of the doctor. He agreed. I let him do the first biopsy but then decided to see a dermatologist for the rest. Thankfully, the one he did came back benign, no cancer cells.
I wasn't so lucky with the next two. Both the next two moles the dermatologist removed had precancer cells. They also found more bad cells around the margins, which meant I had to go back for two more biopsies to get all of it. For those keeping count, that made five.
Yesterday wasn't totally unexpected. She had told me she would probably get that mole at the next visit. I was just glad she didn't find any others. Six in a year is enough.
Now, I wait a week or so for the results. I did tell her to go deeper to begin with so, maybe, I won't have to have it redone should it show any cancer cells.
I appreciate all prayers and good vibes that the mole was benign and no cancer cells were present. I have enough going on with my health without skin cancer.

I am sending positive energy and prayers your way for a positive outcome. I'm relieved to hear the biopsy site isn't quite as tender as you imagined it to be.

Thank you. The doctor didn't seem as sure this one would have bad cells so I'm taking that as a good thing.

Thanks. Me too. I thought, considering where it's located, that it would be rough. So far, not too bad.

I hope all goes will with those and wish you a speedy healing.

Thank you. It looks like it is healing pretty well so far.

I sympathize. I just said a prayer for you as well. Skin cancer is no fun. So far I've only had a few spots cut out, but one cancer was removed from my nose. That's why my nose looks funny. My legs are all scared and healing from the spots I had sprayed last month. I wonder if my skin will ever regain its normal color.

Hope all goes well for, sounds painful but I see from the other responses that it wasn't as bad as you feared, now just to hope that the result comes back ok.

I've never had any sprayed, just the slicing biopsy and the punch biopsy. I'm sorry you had the cancer on your nose. i hope you never have any more.

It doesn't hurt to have it done at all cause they give you a shot first. You feel a little stick and maybe some at the end, but nothing terrible.

Me, too. I'd like to keep what's left of my nose.
